Why AMG doing the very same job can get some moonlightening during 2 or 3 year of Medicine and IMG (US IMG?) can not.
I mean just to pay the bills,nothing fancy...

It will not help IMG and AMG to wok together better,quite opposite.What the Hell it is ? A new face of slavery?

Because AMGs are allowed to get a licence while IMGs are not until they finish residency.

I feel pretty sorry for some IMG's. At one interview, I was with some lady from india who had done an entire OBGYN residency and even a fellowship in India and was applying for a medicine residency because it is more IMG-friendly.

Granted, this lady will be a pretty well-functioning intern...but there is a vast difference between the way medicine is practiced here and the way it is practiced on the outskirts of Mumbai.

I cannot explain why this rule is in place, but even with the experience of a complete residency, IMG's start off at a distinct disadvantage at multiple levels because of the lack of experience they have with the US medical system.

TO rajvosa:What about in program side-income.Some Florida programs let IMG moonlight at SECOND year like inservice in Program's Hospital.Nothing to do with the licence.
I say if they do the same job,give them the same opportunity.If IMG does not do what expected-fire him or her.The same for AMG>

Then,again,why USA is giving jobs to IMG's?

How will an American doctor feel if treated less then equal ,working in other Country?

I am not telling that IMG should be % represented in top hospitals,programs or have a chance to work for military or USA Goverment.That goes with the HOme court.

No discrimination in this Country no more,please...
