Hey guys,

I am not a reapplicant. I am applying for the first time this year. But I just wanted to post this to inspire you guys. First off, throughout the years I have had many friends who have been premeds. So these stories are all from those group of friends.

I can just imagine that reapplying bums you out a lot so I just wanted to bring an example of how much persistance and motivation counts for you. I had a friend who got denied 2 consecutive years mainly due to GPA. and perhaps other weaknesses in app. But she was also kinda introverted and shy. After 2 years of hard work she was able to raise her MCAT by 6 points (she also took post bac classes and improved GPA) and finally got in this year !! She never gave up in the whole process and she actually took the time to relax and enjoy things that she wouldn't in med school. So I just wanted to say that persistance always pays off. SO never lose hope !

Also for all you folks out there with low scores....one other friend of mine had a 3.4 GPA and a 25 MCAT !! and she got in her first try simply because of how incredible she was overall and the schools could not deny this. So if you are like me who despite much hard work have scored low on MCAT never give up. I know plenty people who have gotten in with low GPA/MCAT scores. U are so much more than the sum of your scores.

I really wish you guys the best. I can just imagine how hard it can be reapplying. Hang in there and never lose hope!!

That was great....thanks for sharing....sometimes it all too easy to get caught up in the negativity...so a happy story is a welcome reprieve

Disenchanted,

Thanks for the motivation. However, are your friends residents of Texas? I am not trying to be rude, but Texas residents seem to have a higher chance of getting into Texas schools because of how many state schools there are (as opposed to a Cali resident). Also, is your friend with a 25 MCAT an URM?

Thanks
