For further information regarding DO's in EM residencies, go to www.saem.org or www.acoep.org Furthermore, you can look at all the residencies you are interested in, and click on "residents" and see how many DO's each residency has. www.emra.org has a page specifically for the demographics of each residency and lists how many DO's accepted a year and in the past 5 years. Keep in mind though that not every program in the country has filled out the survey. However, don't let the fact that a DO hasn't been to a program mean that they won't accept DOs. You should still apply *and push for* a program that you are interested in. But I have a feeling this is quite a few years away for you. At the Hospital I work at in WV, we have the following: Emergency DOs 4 out of 21 We also have DOs in these fields as well: Family Practice 13 DOs General IM 1 DO IM Peds 2 DOs OB/GYN 2 DOs Opthamology 1 DO Pediatrics 3 DOs Pulmonologist 1 DO Hope this helps you some.
