I have just received notification that there was a Line of Duty Death
in Old Bridge Twp. this evening.

Jim Dodridge, EMT with Old Bridge First Aid Squad (Red & White), was
struck by a vehicle at high speed while attending to a victim of a
pedestrian vs. auto incident._ EMT Dodridge subsequently died.

Details on funeral arrangements are forthcoming._ It is rare for a
member of the EMS family to die in the line of duty, and our deepest
sympathies go out to the family of Jim and the Rescue Squad.

This totally sucks. We had 2 medics from my area killed about 18 months ago the same way. It was a horrible thing, and there's just no way to make it better.

My sympathies for his family and fellow medics and other emergency services. Rest in peace.

LOD deaths always make us stop and reflect on the risks versus the reasons why we do the job. God bless.

To quote a classmate "that sucks, I wish there was a better way to say it, you know, with bigger words, but there isn't... that just sucks"

My deepest sympathies to his family and crew.
