If you peepz are attending NYCOM, i'm happy for you and congrats. I'll be seeing you people next year I guess. ONe important rule, for exams, try to get TQs. =) they will def help you out on exams.

You guys are also lucky because they've just changed anatomy to 4 blocks instead of 5. =) It use to be 3 blocks before my year, and they tried it for 5 blocks... for my year.. i mean you do learn a lot more, but come on now... its like pulling teeth. Goodluck.

we should have a NYCOM 2008 par-tay!! anyone interested? everyone seems to live close by (sort of)... i'm all for it!

well i think the get together idea is great, cept we only have 9 ppl who claim to be accepted, and one is from oregon! if more ppl add themselves def would be a thought, maybe go out to dinner or something!

I think getting together is a great idea....but only if you all want to come visit Louisiana for dinner. I'll be working here through July. Please let me know if you guys are planning anything for the beginning of school and all though. I love meeting new, cool people...or not so cool people whatever, i'm friendly.

There's nothing wrong with getting together BEFORE orientation begins in late August. The chances are much higher that people would: (1) be in the NYCOM area, (2) be able to find their way to a meeting place, and (3) want to bring in the M1 year with a nice "bang" to really get everything started. :)

Hi! Can't wait to meet all of you... got accepted late December and I'm coming all the way from Las Vegas, NV. Definitely up for some partying, will be moving out there mid-July. Any tips on housing will be appreciated. :confused:

NYCOM is situated in Old Westbury, close to a few different towns, GLEN COVE, WeSTBURY, GLEN HEAD SEA CLIFF. I would try to get a few ppl together and get a house thats the best situation. In the local pennysaver they have house listings. Or contact a realtor here, and perhaps set up a few house visits in one day.

i hear the best way to get housing is through the web board, which none of us seem to have acess to yet. i'm sure alot of apt turnover happens in june after boards.. so i guess we all just have to wait!

but if you do receive access to that web board, please post!

I think I posted this somewhere else...the webman for NYCOM told me that you will get access after your second deposit, the $1000 one, is processed. So I would assume that is sometime in early May, since it is due on May 1st and NYCOM seems to take some time cashing checks.

Yah, it's been up this whole time, because current NYCOM students are using it. I was given access to it by Elizabeth Doran since March of this year... just call her at 516-686-3794 or email her at edoran@nyit.edu and let her know you're an incoming student. Hope this helps!

congrats on being accepted to nycom... its a good time.. make the most of it, you have nyc in your backyard, although most of you seem like you are from the local area. the nycom webboard is talk.nyit.edu/~nycom.. call elizabeth doran for your log in info..
there is tons of stuff on there, i know last years incoming freshman, as well as our second year class used the new student orientation part to their benefit to meet up etc. housing is posted on there also.. lots of second years are posting their places up since they are leaving. some of the other good realtors are:
coristan realty, caesar's realty, and century 21 jimco. i've used a realtor for both houses ive lived in in the area.. all mentioned realtors are located in glen cove, and many of the students reside in the area.. i won't be tutornig like brooklyn, but ill see you guys at orientation.... good luck and make the most of this summer.. its your LAST... haha
