Hi Yasi,

I am not sure which one is better because I will take a review for the first time, but my decision was based on the fact that Duggans course will be longer than UCLA. I know it is not the best way to choose, but I believe that having more time with the instructors will help me more.
I made my decision yesterday. ;) Hope it is the right one.

I was just wondering if there are ppl in the bay area gearing up for the RT exam.

here is an FYI for all those who are interested in taking a prep course at uop... this is funny guys but I just called them and they did not know that the RT Exam had been reinstated!!

plus i tried calling the Dental board and guess what... the system exits itself and you cannot even leave a message with them, let alone talk to a representative... how bizzarre is that?!! :meanie:

how do I find out if they have kept my information fromt he last time I sent in my application???

Hi,
You won't be needing a notarization of the score card photocopies.Just send them the Xerox copies of your mark sheets before July. That will do.

I called the Board today and talked with someone on extension #2326 She told me that WE MUST SEND the original report. She asked me to make a copie for myself and send the original report to them.
So I took a copie of my report and also will ask for a new (original)report from ADA ( $10 cost)just in case.

hmm ok, coz the set of rules in the business n profession code reads that they want us to send them a copy of our score card.Man, these people are really out to confuse us!! I just wish they(DBC) would be a little more consistent with what they want and put it up on their site in detailed words:(

Hi people,

I have good and bad news about the bench.
I went to Duggan's class today and we were informed that DBC will not change the procedure until the next examination which will be NOVEMBER 19, 2004 at USC :) , but the changes will happen eventually. They will change the wax pattern to a composite restoration on ivorine tooth.
Also, he said that by August, probably middle of the month, we will be inform on which year we will be able to sit for the bench exam. The selection will be at random :scared: , so good luck to all of us :p
The DBC will update the website anytime this week, so let's keep looking

Also, he said that by August, probably middle of the month, we will be inform on which year we will be able to sit for the bench exam.
Which year ????!!!!!! :wow: :wow:
They are being very unreasonable. I guess this means that irrespective of which year you are allowed to take the exam, yr 2008 will be the last and so the number of attempts a candidate is allowed can't be evenly distributed.
Good Luck to everyone, hope you all get selected for this year.

hi ,
does anyone have a rough idea as to how many new and old applicants are waiting for bench.

also the bill says that each eligible candidate will be given no more than 4 attempts to pass bench ....does that mean the attempts can be less than 4 ?

i somehow think that it may not be possible to give 4 attempts to all candidates . can dbc just end the exam in 2008 ,without giving all the attempts to the candidates.

not that we will need all the attempts ,but if it is so ,dbc will have to conduct many exams each year to make sure that all of us get a fair chance.

Here's a thought... once you get your license what rules and regulations apply to to you ?

.. are there any time limits after which you need to update your license by taking a new set of licensure exams?
... is there an annual number of continuing education courses that one might have to take?
... can you keep your license even if you're unable to practise for sometime?

this is really important.A friend of mine sent in his original score card(part1 and 2) to dbc. and dbc has sent it back to him. he was a first timer and dbc did not have any previous record of his.. now i find this confusing because i too sent my score card to dbc at the same time and my situation is the same as his,as in i too was sending dbc my info for the first time.. so i wanted to know if their is anyone else who has sent their score cards to dbc and already got them back? please help!!! and the other info that i have is that this nov exam priority will be given to old applicants and hence forth it will be 50% of old applicants and 50% new applicants. if anyone else has any other info please let us know.

hey docsps,
yeah i was there at uop, and i do remember meeting someone from sacramento..anyways thanks for the response. my friends score card was sent back to him by dbc itself..its all very confusing. hey maybe i am just being paranoid, but i was also thinking of something else...you know we sent our scores to dbc through ada, but if u recall in our part 2 applications we had an option of our scores being sent to any 3 boards in the US... so all students who give their boards in california will obviously want their scores to be sent to dbc and plus few others from other states may also opt for california board..so dbc has received our scores twice once when we appeared for part2 and now when we again requested ada to send them our scores...so my question is how will dbc diffrentiate as to which students are interested in taking the bench exam..becuase they receive many scores from ada....i hope i am making sense to you...so i was thinking just for precaution should we also send our original score report which we have with us..we have very little time left...let me know what you guys think...

docsps
06-29-2004, 12:32 PM
hey hi sonia....i understand your concern....and even i was thinking the same ,but then after speaking to a couple of friends i felt there's no need to send another copy again to the dbc....they'll unnecessarily get all the more confused if we keep on sending them score reports.and then when we'll send in the application forms they'll automatically come to know who all are applying for the bench..so i guess its fine if we dont send our score cards now....tht's what i feel...may be i'm even wrong ...i dono...

I thought of getting some work done at dental school where I am presently doing my Masters in non clinical field then move on to Duggans. Hi, I need help out here! Iam confused that....whether we have to send our NBDE scores to DBC by July 12th if we are applying for the RT exam this year or even if we plan to take exam any time until 2008???? please help me with ur replies!
I also read in the forum that some have sent original NBDE score reports which they have with them personally to DBC . But when I called ADA and enquired about it, they said that we should not send the original score reports which we have with us to any body and they will not be sent to us again. is that true?? though I have the only option to send the score cards with me, I thought it's better to take an advice from u guys...

Dear Pallavi:

AB 1467 stipulates that all candidates must submit their original scores 90 days after the it is signed into law, that is, by July 12. Go ahead and submit yours ASAP if have not done so. Don't hang on to the original report card. It has no personal use. If you want another one, you can always ask the ADA and pay $10 for another copy. You might have been misinformed by the person you talked to at the ADA. They just sent me another copy of my report card! I all had to do was ask in writing, and pay the required fee. Good luck.

Hi Pallavi,

It has been a while since I posted anything here and I have missed the interaction with all of you.

I called the California Dental Board about exactly what needs to be sent in before July 12, 2004. You must send in the original score report for your NBDE results. You do not need to have the ADA send a sealed copy of the score report. I challenged the person that I spoke with on the phone and said that the information that the Dental Board posted on their website did not stipulate that an original score report needed to be sent in. The person said that "Dental Board management decided that an original score report must be sent in." I didn't argue with the person, but this seemed to me to be totally unfair to provide inadequate and incomplete information on an official state website. Further, I was told to send the score report via return receipt mail. It sounded like the Dental Board has a huge stack of score reports sitting on some desk somewhere within their offices and there is always the chance that they will misplace a score report. You may need the return receipt as proof that you actually sent in the report within the scheduled deadline.

Below is a sample cover letter to send along with your score report:

Hi Folks,

I'm preparing for part I in December 2004. Will I still have time to apply for the CA RT exam? I'm a foreign trained dentist trying to get lincensure without doing the 2-yr advanced program.

Appreciate your advice.

Thanks.

is the card sent from ada not as good as the original ....plus we have to attach the original on the application too .what will we attach there if we send the original........

I asked the same question to the Dental Board and the answer was a photocopy of your score card may be attached to your application. But I guess they will clarify everything once they post the application date on the website

in that Question no 7 is confusing
it says what to submit for application.

7. What do I need to submit to the Board once the application deadline is
established?
Eligible candidates must submit the following:
? Completed Restorative Technique Application
? Fees - $556.00 for first time applicant
? Fees - $325.00 for re-examination applicants
? 2 Fingerprint cards ? Non California Residents
? LiveScan Fingerprint application ? California Residents only
? Original Diploma and a copy of the Diploma (original diploma will be returned)
? Certification of Diploma Form
? Original Transcript of the Academic and Clinical Dental School Record,
and a copy of the transcript of the academic record.
? Certification of Translation Form

Do re-examinaton students also have to submit Certification of diploma form & Certification of Translation form.
& what about livescan fingerprint appication.

please any re-examiner has any idea please help here.

The Board has moved the next RT Exam a week early from Nov. 19-21 to Nov 13-14. I don't think this matters much for now, but is it going to be a two-day affair instead of three(Friday being the registration day?)?

hey there everyone,
i hav a question. well there is no guarantee tht we will get a chance to giv the bench exam this year. so wht if someone tries for the Idp program too as a second option but wants to giv their part 1 again to improve their scores. will tht make the person ineligible to apply for the bench as the new scores wil say exam given in 2004? (first time gav part 1 in 2000 and cleared all subjects)

hi!
As for my knowledge,if u give part-1 again they will cancle your prevoius part-1 score. it is not like toefl that u can give as many time as possible & still u can send out ur best score of those. So DBC may not cosider it. but its wise to ask DBC.

Exam in November and they haven't announced the enrollment period. And if the past is any indication they won't tell you whether you are admitted or not until a month beforehand. So for the next half year our lives are on hold. Can't plan anything .... can't travel .... practice everyday to sharpen our skill yet not knowing if the effort will be for naught, especially with the change in format next year

We are being treated like second class citizen and we should voice our displeasure.

I agree. But I guess it'd be easier to spot someone who wasn't dentally trained in the Western Hemisphere? Still, I'm glad that the common language on this forum is English. I guess Spanish would be tied second to any one of the Indian languages? I'd think someone may have done a poll on the most popular native language in SDN Dental International forum? That'd be interesting to see!

Hi shaya/ivshah/Kosha
I spoke with some one in the examination section of Dental board of california. I asked her if I would lose my eligibility for bench exam if I was to take part 1 again and she said I would ( I have no idea as to how they can get to know that I retook the exam though). She also told me it would be wise to wait untill I finish bench exam if not part 4. anyway u should talk to them before proceeding.

Go to MAILBOXES ETC. I belive that's the name of the postal/office service place where they are also authorized to do the fingerprinting. That's where I had mine done but I was in california at that time. I think you can also go to a police station bec. what's important I think is that whoever is doing the fingerprinting must know what they're doing and had some form of training in proper fingerprinting. You can call also call the Board and ask them.

Hi,
I had also gone thru the same confusion. But I contacted people in Dental Board and Senator's office dealing with Bench and got infromation from a very senior Dental Board Officer that as long as you meet the criteria ( of passing Part 1 and 2 before dec 2003) you are eligible for bench. Even if you retake part 1 they don't care as long as you don't send them the new scrore.
I have just taken my part 1 again ( CBT) and now waiting for its results and Bench exam.
good luck!

CDA really knows how to screw us up. Who makes this rule that the application must be in a specific kind of file folder - in this case the "Oxford End Tab File Folder H210D"? If my secretary pulls a similar trick she will hear an earfull, if not shown the pink slip.

What next .... do we have to buy them file cabinets too?

How hard is it for them to transfer our application from a mailing envelope into a folder?!! What are we paying the $250 application fee for? This job can be easily done by hiring a temp for 2 weeks! Instead they want 1500 applicants to go out and search for this specify kind of file folder - which I may add and others attest to, is VERY difficult to find. To add insult to injury it usually comes in a box of 100 so what are we going to do with the remaining 99?

I can not imagine them doing this to American students. They will sure receive hell. International students are the silent type, and take abuses laying down.

We should do something.

We were united in fighting for the expansion of the RT exam, but we seem to have lost momentum in pressing CDB to hold more RT exams, and to conduct the application in a friendlier way. The latest "file folder" incident is just another episode how CDB treat foreign dentists as second class entities.

I call for others to join me in a writing campaign to CDB, the governor, state assembly members and state senators to rectify this situation. I will make appointments to see my district senator and assembly member, and see what they can do about this. The things I want CDB to improve are:

1) Hold more RT exam a year. At twice a year and 250 examinees per exam, it will take 3 years to give the ~1500 applicants ONE exam. The wait is TOO long. Since the exam will sunset in 2008, there isn't enough time for a second chance for everybody. CDB argues they don't have enough resources to hold more exams, however they have no problem holding 6 licensure exams a year. Currently there is no wait to get onto a licensure exam, but up to 3 years for the RT. This is another example of their discriminatory actions towards foreign trained dentists.

2) Establish a guideline on RT exam priority, and to give out a priority number. This way we can plan our lives, instead of waiting and preparing endlessly for the exam. Right now my wife does not know whether to apply for dental school, or wait up to three years for the RT exam. If she knows she will not get into the November exam, she will make a long overdued trip with our new born baby home. Instead she is practicing everyday in the garage, hoping for a 1 in 6 chance she will be admitted to the RT exam this November.

3) Annouce who are in the exam two months ahead. Not 4 to 6 weeks. This way we can practice more effectively.

4) Get rid of this kind of "file folder" bullsh?t.

Remember only the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

I just filed an anonymous complain to California Department of Consumer Affairs. They oversee the CDB. I ask others to file similar complaints. Their web link is

https://www.dca.ca.gov/dca/secure/on-line-complaint.html

--------------------------------

California Dental Board requires all Restorative Examination applicants to file their application inside a "Oxford End Tab File Folder H210D".

Please see

http://www.dbc.ca.gov/pdf/rt_ref_number_updated_for_rt_exam3.pdf

I understand this will make THEIR job easier. However they have not considered the undue burden put on the ~1500 applicants. The specific "Oxford End Tab File Folder H210D" is very hard to find. I went to Kinko, Office Depot and Target today and were unable to find them. Other people have also expressed great difficulties finding those folders. I can only find them online. It takes more than three days to order, and come in box of 100 (which I need only one).

On the other hand it is very easy for California Dental Board to transfer our application from a mailing envelope into a folder themselves. We pay $500 for the examination, in which $250 is the application fee. The application fee is to cover the administrative cost and CDB should not shift this burden to the applicants.

I have never known of any other incidents where examinees have to submit their application inside a specific type of file folder. In fact California Dental Board does not have similar policy in other examination applications such as the Licensure Examination. This policy is discriminatory against foreign trained dentist as they are the only one required to take this examination.

I sincerely hope you will help us to smooth out this unncessary bureacratic requirement.

best regards.

tengu3

I also made a similar complain to CDB through their email (and cc to California Consumer Affairs so they know they have a wider audience).

-------------------------------------

Dear California Dental Board,

I write to urge you to reverse the Restorative Technique Examination application requirement to use the "Oxford End Tab File Folder H210D".

This particular folder is very hard to find. I went to Kinko, Office Depot and Target today and were unable to find them. Other people have also expressed great difficulties finding those folders. I can only find them on the internet. It takes more than three days to order, and come in a box of 100 (which I need only one).

I understand using a specific kind of folder will make your job easier. However this will put undue burden on the ~1500 applicants. I will think the $250 application fee will cover administrative cost like these. Since you have no such requirements on other examination applications, including the Licensure Examination, I wish you will make the policy across the board.

best regards.

tengu3
08-16-2004, 01:10 AM
some may wonder why I will raise such a big fuss over the file folder H210D, when it can be solved by ordering it online for $30. First there is the principle (okay principles sometimes get people killed), and second, more practically, is to stop this discriminatory action towards foreign trained dentists. Consider this as the first skirmish, the bigger price is the number of RT exams per year.

Stop the immigrant mentality. Stand up for your right. This is America. Don't wait for others to change the world for you.

hi people,
tengu is right! that specific folder is really tough to come by, not that it cant be bought online, but it seems a total waste of money to spend 30 bucks and order 100 of those damned things and use only one.its not available as a single piece(as is the case with many office supplies) and i couldnt even locate it on the office depot website.
This is really ridiculous, why does it have to just be that one particular type n brand?? isnt something more easily available or commonly used more appropriate?I mean this is all being used as a means of harrasmenttowards us, starting from making us languish for months n years on end with no signs of exams n when they finally decide to do anything, theyre creating confusion and inconvenience on every step.

explorer2010
08-16-2004, 01:32 PM
Can they refuse application for not using recommended folder ?
I don't think so.
However, I appreciate great mind, who got this idea. Wouldn't it be easier to ask 30 bucks extra as an application fee.
Well guys, we can keep rest of 99 folders to file all crazy requirements, our uncertain exam schedule, weird changes in bench pattern, and all 'periodic' updates.
Good Luck.

The Board has it's own lawyers maybe we should have one good one too representing our interests, i'm sure most would be willing to pay a fee if we all accomplish our end results

i live in canada, perhaps one from california ought to start this like dentisthusband or tengu so if worse comes to worse a class action suit is more formidable then scattered individuals. we should all make a concerted effort to protect our interests.

who's willing to volunteer? what do you think?

Hi ! I am also having trouble finding the recommended folder. Please mail me the details on how I can buy some of the folders from you....
Also, I have signed up for the UCLA course in september. I am thinking of staying at the Holiday Inn [ there is a free shuttle service to the school and it is $100/ night for 2 queen sized beds in a room] Is any one interested in sharing a room with me?

to save people a trip to the various stores, I am going to post where you WILL NOT find the folder (will appreciate somebody to post where one CAN find them)

- Office Depot
- Office Max
- Staples
- Target
- Kinko

suffice to say that particular folder is EXTREMELY rare when the major office supply superstores don't carry them  Most stores carry SMEAD instead of Oxford, and usually in the letter size only.

lamdent,
everyone eligible doesnt necessarily have to submit their applications, but im guessing everyone will(unless ur not at all prepared for the test)
I was just going through the FAQ page on the DBC website n this qs is similar to what u asked, read on:
Q.. What if i do not apply for the exam in november?
Ans:If u do not apply for the exam in november a filing deadline will be established in 2005 for the next exam.

so there, i think that should answer your doubt.
but take it from me, theres going to be hordes of people applying for the exam this time!
good luck.

i have the folders already H210D. if anyone wants one pls give me your address and money. i jsut don't know how much. a regular letter size mail from canada to the U.S. is 80 cents. A big folder in a hard envelope would probably be not more than $2. A brown for mailing the folder 1 plus cost of the folder.

Whoever wants one pls mail me 4.00 first and I'll mail it to you. My address is 205-2757 Battleford Rd., Mississauga, Ontario, Canada L5N3A8. I am not forcing anyone and this is not a business. But I don't know what I am going to do with 100 folders!

hi ,
i just talked to someone at dbc , and she said that other folders are ok as long as they are-- legal size, manilla ........etc (same in shape and size as oxford)and u use a 20 font to write on it .
some other company makes these kind of folders.....i hope they are easier to find.

I sent the folder to Tengu today via Canada Post regular mail. I couldn't find an envelope big enough to put the folders without it bending so I bought a huge bubble wrap envelope and sent him 3 folders.

I underestimated the cost, postage alone was CAD5.05 as you'll see on the envelope due to the size and the bubble wrap envelope was 1.99 plus PST and GST (ontario tax is 15%) i spent a total of CAD 8.10 to send it and that was excluding cost of folders so its about USD 6.00

Again you don't have to get it from me bec. now we have the option of using another brand but for anyone needing an envelope just so you know the cost it's $6.00 USD. I sent it via regular mail so Tengu let me know when you receive it.

Dear friends and colleagues,
With regard to what everybody has written here, it seems that nobody is happy with the way CDB is carrying the RT exam for foreign trained dentists. And it really seems they are aware about what they are doing.

There are about 1500 applicants; they claim that foreign trained dentists have a chance to take the RT exam four times till 2008 but in practice they give the test 3 times a year and leave you no chance to have a second try !!! This is ridiculously unfair !!!

In America where we can express our minds and defend our rights freely, it wouldn't be wise to stay quiet. I personally would do anything in my ability to make those responsible listen to what we are saying. And I hope now that CDB has been told to give the tests till 2008, it's time we asked for fair exams. We are not second class dentists or applicants, we are asking for equal rights and we see no reason to be treated differently.

To Wenbo Lu, I got your postal money order cheque and they said next time to write the name of the payee or else they won't honor it if it's left blank, apparently bec. of the postal code it was strangely more costly to send the mail to you than to dentobabe in the U.S.

Your total is CAD 11.3 and dentobabe's is CAD5.9 including enveoples. The mail to B.C. they said is about 6 days and surface U.S. mail is about 2 weeks or sooner.

I'd appreciate if you both can mail the difference.

To the rest of the SDNer's I am not selling anmymore folders. I'll just find some use for them I guess, I just find it time consuming to be going to the post office all the time and emailing the diff. postage prices. Also I just don't want to feel responsible if the postal office does not get it to you as quickly as hoped.

i agree they are a bunch of freaking high school graduate idiots making up ridiculous rules and regulations for a simple application procedure ..

their stupid legal size folder rule and imagine finding something large enough to send it in securely without damage and im sure ppl are going to send it via fedex or ups or certified mail ..

why the hell are we paying the application fee ?? so those stupid airhead secretaries can gossip the whole day and not work ?? are they so ****ing lazy or busy that they want us to write the ref. # in freaking "20 pitch font" and that too on a "label" ?? were they high on pot when they made the rules ?? if the *******s used even 2 % of their intellegence in making up the rules it would have been easier ..

and they are going to tell us after sep. 10 if we are eligible for the exam ?? and send the letter like 5 days before the exam like it happened to me back in aug. 2003 ??

****ing *******s .. if i ever get a chance ill stick it up to them someday

We should do something.

earlier i was seriously considering going home but having lived in North america for 3 years I don't know whether living conditions will be better in a 3rd world country yes being able to practise but with meager pay even as a dentist...

in the meantime all our lives are on hold even planning for perhaps another child, which brings me back to the question, how much do I want this and what price am i going to pay and how long do i wait? it's physically, emotionally and mentally exhausting but i guess that's the cost of moving to another country...

Mommyr,

I'm feeling the same was as you do, moving from another country & starting over again.

I have 2 kids in pre-school. They're both growing up so fast....& so are the expenses. I thought about going to school instead of wating for the exam but I could not afford it.And I didnt want to go back to my country to practice coz the pay isn't worth it. Plus, bec of poor economy, I get frustrated bec the patients could not afford some treatments. So, I have chosen to wait, hope & pray for this exam. I also work as a part time dental assistant. I will try to challenge the RDA exam just so I can get a salary increase. I heard RDA gets $18-$25 depending on experience & how good she/he works...

But I dont want to be an assistant for tooooo long either. But there's no other choice but to wait....... :(

Good luck to us all! :luck:

I always recommend their business to others, they are very reputable pharmacy online.

They represent good business practices and I will always be a customer of theirs. I received my order ? these guys are great and honest!

They are great and I like ordering from such honest people who take care of their customers.

It's getting more and more unusual to receive fair treatment from internet companies and I just wanted to make sure they got some "good press" when they so obviously deserve it.

hey all ..

this is for all those who have previously taken the RT exam and have not passed it and are looking to re-apply for the Oct 2004 exam ..

i just called the board because i am re-taking my RT exam and they didnt still put my NDB Ref # up on the website and there is only 9 days left for the deadline. the lady tried to find my original application and told me she couldnt find my file because they sent my application back to me after i falied the test.

my question is: I DID not know that they send back your applications if you take and FAIL the exam. I thought the applications were returned to applicants only if you did not get in to take the test.

so now they dont have my first application and its lost..they dont have my NDB number on the website and acc. to the website they are not done posting all the numbers until the word "end" appears and it says it was last updated on 08/06/04.

On top of all this drama and confusion the application deadline is Sep. 10, 2004.

heres what im doing. im sending in my re-application irrespective of wether my NDB ref # is posted on the website or not. i am also going to attach proof that i already took the exam in aug 2003. i have the confirmation letter then sent me and i will attach my score report that shows that i failed the test. so i guess i can proove that eligible for the rt exam.

has any one in here experienced a similar **** up by the board ? and like the aldy told me today, did any of u who failed the bench get abck your original application from the baord ?? ive never heard of that before ..

oletyrags,

so would u know what ur friends are planning to do ? i suggest they send their application in even if their number doesnt show up on the website and attach proof of the admission ticket and their report card ..

i mean freaking idiots ..wether we are in their "current" pool of eligible candidates or not , legally we are eligible as we have already taken the bench .. and it was clearly mentioned that re-applicants DO NOT need to send in their NDB scores .. it was also mentioned that the list was incomplete until the word "END" showed up and they were still working on updating the eligible candidate list .. the website it still that way and there is only a week for the application deadline .. there is nothing the applicants could do from their side ..

id appreciate it if anyone in the similar situation has any more ideas ..

I took the RT exam before and did not pass the test. My reference number also does not appear on the list. I know few of my friends who also took the RT exam and did not pass. No one got their applications back. And none of their reference numbers appear on the website list either.

What are you guys planning to do?
I will call the dental board and see what I should do?

Sneha,
Read Q.No 18 in the Frequently Asked Questions Section for the RT Exam on the website www.dbc.ca.gov

You have to notify DBC within 45 days after failing the RT Test that you wish to reexamine. Otherwise you loose your eligibilty for any future exams.

the 45 day rule applies only after and "from" the Oct 2004 exam as it was only included in the Bill AB1457 and not stated previously ..

as u know im in the same spot .. im sending the appln in regardless of whether my ref # is posted or if they lost my original file ..

just mail the application with proof of u taking the previous test and ur failed test report.. there can be no better proof than that ..and include a copy of ur ndb report..

if uve noticed our NDB Ref # is NOT printed on the Bench Report .. neither is our SSN so they can match both the NDB report and the Bench report .. so they are going to move their lazy fat asses a little bit more to verify our eligibility , which they deserve..

yeah, sure try to contact them on the phone and try to work it out even if its after the application deadline .. Atleast they cant say u never appied for the Oct 2004 test before the deadline ..

Hi futuredentist,

I got my compressor from home depot. Very affordable. It's a little bit noisy compared to the real dental compressors, but it just work as well as the expensive ones. I just place it inside a closed cabinet whenever I use it to minimize the noise (& to avoid compaints from neighbors).

All my instruments & materials, I got it from Duggan.

Hi,

I called up the CA dental board person. When I asked her that my ref number does not appear on the website although I took the RT exam. She replied that they are not done with posting the numbers and we need to wait. She was very rude in her reply. I already sent my application and asked to her the status (if it was complete or not). She replied that if you have sent it, then it should be complete. I don't know what the heck she meant. She was rude and very lazy and did not bother to check my file.

Anyway, I think we need to wait & see what happens.

Hi,

If I haven't preapared for the exam yet , but willing to take the UCLA course in Sept. or Oct. , do u think i have a chance to be prepared by Nov.?
Do u think i would have enough time to buy the equipment before the Sept 13 course?
Do u think i should send my application now or till next year?????

Thanks.
