I'm a third year medical student... I haven't a clue what radonc actually does in the real world.... I love oncology and working with cancer patients, and originally I had thought about doing medicine and hem/onc, but I hadn't considered radonc at all. What can you tell me about the specialty? pros? Cons? how competitive?

Alot of your questions may be answered in the FAQ thread. Look in there. Your last question: about as competitive as anything can be...up there with derm, ortho, plastics.
