First off let me preface this by saying I have not done a Medicine internship in either, but I have worked at Ford. Its an excellent teaching hospital. RWJ (I think, please correct me if I'm wrong) has a medical school affiliation which leads me to believe it must have at least pretty good teaching. So, in sum, I'd say choose based on where you think you might prefer to match into (if thats the goal of your sub-i). Sorry can't be more helpful, but I'm not sure if you'll find anyone with first hand knowledge of both sub-i's to give you the ideal answer.

i'm an intern at robert wood...is there a reason you are choosing between these 2 places...detroit vrs nj?

in terms of value, just to let you know rwj - st peters may be breaking off at the end of this academic year...

i would probably rotate at the one that i thought i was more interested in....

I am actually from NJ and currently live in Detroit, so I have housing available in both states :).....
I know that HFH and RWJ both have good teaching and a couple of RWJ residents told me that Dr. Kothari is absolutely great.....I was just wondeing where I would get the best preparation for medicine.

Thank you for your reply

Dharma,

Where are most of the intern's from that attend RWJ? are most graduates of US MD programs? Are there quite a few DO graduates? International students? Just curious.

so most of the residents are from the us...majority are us mds...a few are do's...there's only one img...she's doing prelim year at our program...

the program is heterogenous in terms of make up...the students are mostly from ny/nj med schools though...makes sense obviously...

to respond to masreya, dr. kothari is the best part of the program...he's absolutely wonderful...i personally think you should rotate at the place you want to get to know more and are more interested in for residency...

i think the teaching at st peters is very good and it would be a good experience...and to tell you the truth i don't know a lot about henry ford but i have heard good things...

good luck to you all....

Thank you very much for your reply. I have decided to do my subI at St. Peters. I have been rotating through Ford and although it's a great place and teaching is awesome, it's really chaotic here.

Thank you
