Okay, I know that most pharmacy schools start the application process in the fall of each year, but when do students actually start getting interviews and acceptances?
Thanks!

Thanks! kwakster928 07-09-2004, 10:31 AM it depends on school to school but if you apply through pharmcas and do any of the early decision schools you might be looking at interview by august ~ september and getting your decesion by october 31. if you do regular decision it verys a lot. i think most of schools start interviewing once they get back from semester break so starting january you will see some interview dates goes on until late march even. you usually get decision by mid march on. this is how it is in east coast, but i dont know about the west.. SynergeticSteve 07-09-2004, 10:43 AM i applied early last summer (among the 1st year/hectic/chaotic/problem-laced program we call PharmCAS), so i know i got my application in before each of the CA school priority deadlines. anyhow, here's my experience with my interview dates UOP (early nov) > USC (mid-nov) > UCSD (jan-did not go) > UCSF (feb). remember, this was contigent on you getting all your application material in before mid-september, as was in my case. as for acceptances, i heard from usc in dec near christmas, ucsf in march near my birthday, and uop (waitlisted-i later told them to remove my file) in april. my words of advise...APPLY EARLY because you will have a better shot of landing an interview, later interview dates tend to have smaller groups of people and less open spots available. good luck to everyone applying this year! Smilescali 07-11-2004, 10:27 AM Thanks you two. That will help me with some course scheduling issues I have. I want to get one of the Ochems completed BEFORE the interview (if I get one!:) ) vafcarrot 07-11-2004, 10:38 AM That's funny... whenever I talk to people about "when I get into pharmacy school," I always feel stupid and have to follow it up with "I mean if I get in". There's a fine line between feeling confident and looking cocky. |
