Has anyone taken both?
I know the DAT has the preceptual section, but what is the difference? Is one easier than the other?

I would say dat is easier b/c all your questions are discrete, there are no passages. But watch out for the pat, its not easy. but you don't have physics on the dat. Reading compreshension is like 20X easier on the dat too b/c the questions are more word for word on average.

Whats the "pat"
Perceptual ability. Also keep in mind that the dat has math.
Also, are there free practice DAT's available anywhere?

the taco guy is right. i just took the mcats in april and the dats last week. the dats are much easier. the questions are freestanding so you dont get tired reading and distracted from answering the question. there is a downfall to that though because you wont get any problems out of teh passage, you gotta know your stuff. the bio also has taxonomy and info about phyla and different plants and stuff like that that no one cares about, so thats pretty annoying. dont worry bout the math and the reading, if you took the sats and did ok you will be fine. tha PAT though you gotta study for. you will def be tricked on the test so i suggest gettinga strategy to approach every type of question, like angle parking is a good one, and listing the number of painted sides for each cube helped me.
