I've noticed many people saying that the Kaplan book alone is not enough to fully cover everything in biology. I have several other biology textbooks I have collected over the years (AP Bio included). I wanted to know what areas of biology you recommend I go over that are not covered in the Kaplan blue book. Any feedback would be apprecaited, thanks. :)

Kaplan does a good job of outlining the material and presenting some of the basics of first year biology. What they lack is in depth coverage of several topics - such as evolution, ecology, etc. It seems that the latest pool of DAT questions has been leaning towards these topics, though you can certainly count on seeing a range of subjects. I recommend going over your textbooks on the sections dealing with ecology, animal behavior, as well as those sections dealing with the human kidney, human reproduction (e.g. ovulation), photosynthesis, etc. AP biology does a much better job covering some of these areas. I found Exam Krackers to be helpful when it came to reviewing the kidney, blood circulation, and human reproduction. And the nice thing about Exam Krackers is you can quickly turn around and sell it online to some of those stressed out pre-med students! :laugh: As far as which sections to study, I think it depends on the person - some people rock at genetics but have a hard time with principles of population ecology, etc. Since you can't soak in everything, determine what are your weak spots and focus a bit more on them - turn to your library of resources. If you put in the time and effort, it will pay off!

What about Thinkwell Bio and GChem?
