I like the Protonix Pill. It looks like a little light brown football.

I'm working in a hospital pharmacy as a summer intern, and for some reason I think that Prevacid has the best looking pill. It's the first pill that I've been able to recognize on sight.

Either brand Klonopin or a Vitamin D cap.

Tessalon Perles (benzonatate), no question the most asthetically (sp) pleasing, but damn are they hard to keep on the tray and count!

Prometrium, brand name Valium, tessalon pearls, macrobid, ah the list goes on...

I have to go with brand Valium too... I've always wanted to string the Valium tablets together through the little "v" holes (which almost looks like a heart!) and wear it as a necklace. When I get stressed, I'll just take a bite out of my necklace!

Yummy! Glucophage smells the best - pillwise, at least. For some REALLY pleasant drugs, I suggest any IV cephalosporin (ceftazidime or cefepime in particular) or acetylcysteine. :meanie:

definitely Colace/Doc-Q-lace/docusate.....even though they are stool softeners. I usee to collect rocks as a kid and they remind me of polished crystals. :o

Terazosin is up there with benzonatate - hard to keep on the tray though. Macrobid reminds me of a bumblebee. I also kinda like the Buspar bars. Anything that is an osmotic pump tablet awes me - look at that tiny hole! And I like the pretty colors in the amylase....ok I am a total pharmacy geek.

We joke about having a valium lick, like a salt lick, at the pharmacy for nurses to nip before they bombard us with evil looks. I can see how a similar product would be most helpful in a retail setting as well. We could place a decoy near the lick and.....

The hot pink Zinc Sulfate. I work in a hospital pharmacy and when we were not busy, I asked the other 2 techs with me this question. It was funny, we went around the pharmacy picking out cool looking pills. The Pharmacist got intrigued and pitched in a few times. :D After a while, the Question switched to the most boring looking pill.

Uroxatral - they look like little vanilla creme cookies. Worth it to open a full bottle just for a peek.

Prevacid 15mg - pink and aqua, very Barbie. I think they made the 30mg pink and black for the less effeminate.

Levoxyl - bowties (well, almost)! Now, because of their old ad, they really remind me of that old man with glasses who boogies on the Six Flags' commercials.

Maxzide - more bowties!

Prinzide - shaped like old bottle caps. Very cute.

everytime i go into work, i have to smell the erythromycin es suspension. it smells different to me each time: dr. pepper, root beer, orange tropical punch....i remember taking it as a kid and loving it!!

e-mycin used to have orange and white pellets when i was a kid and had to take it...

As unprofessional as it sounds, while I was putting away the order one day last week I purposely took extra long in front of the A-C shelf to stop and take a whif of Benicar... That **** is so strong - all I had to do was open the cap and it was as if I was already at the movie theaters.

I would have to go with the lisinopril 20mg at the hospital I work at as they are a cool looking star shape.

I'm surprised noone has mentioned Fosamax There is a little bone shape in them! (at least the brand we buy)

The depakote is sugar coated vinilla flavored. Bust open an spironalactone and siff it, its yummy. But the winner is dilantin infa-tabs. I want to eat one just cause they smell so good.

I like the diltiazem because they're purple and pink and when you shake then they rattle like a mexican jumping bean. My fav trick for new techs is to have them smell 3 or 4 PNV's then give them armour thyroid to smel LOL :D

as far as looks go... I'd have to go with gabapentin 300 as my least favorite because they are so freakin bright under the fluorescent lights and it hurts to look at them

as for favorite... I think it's pyrazinamide 300 that looks identical to M&M's in size and shape, or Klor-Con 10, they're yellow and black tabs, pretty sweet looking

The techs usually count all C-II's at my store, but the pharmacist is still responsible for entering the prescription into the log book. We do a lot of C-II's and the pharmacist on duty doesn't have enough time to do that on top of everything else.

One of the prenatal vits is marketed as vanilla, but I always call it marshmallow fluff. And the minty spironolactone is nice, too...

However, I do depise the bright orange Gabapentin 300; its just too bright for me. I also like the way Inderal LA (60?) sounds when you shake them--its got a nice tone to it.

I love the Methadone 40 (Methadose) tablets!! They are so freaking huge and so hard to keep on the tiny tray. Its like a HCTZ pill that got angry and hulked out. Too bad we can't dispense it anymore :( I'll miss 'em. :cry:
