WinLAME (http://winlame.sourceforge.net/) is a good free program to do that. Also, check out this site (http://www.snapfiles.com/freeware/gmm/fwaudiocodec.html) for other utilities. Good luck! :)

On a related topic, I have the lectures in MP3. When I try to put them on my IPOD, it errors out after trying.

Could it be that each file is too large? Each individual file is an hour of lecture, or about 8-10 MB in size.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I had heard that converting the files might present a problem, but I've had no problem with the one lecture I've done so far. I used the MusicMatch program to convert the MP3 to WAV format and also used MusicMatch to burn the audio CD. Listened to the lecture in my vehicle on the way to school this morning.

* You can convert MP3 to WAV in Winamp as well. If anyone is interested, I can post instructions.

* The newer CD writing programs will do it automatically. Just create a new audio CD, then drag and drop the MP3s you want and it'll convert to CD Audio format. I know Easy CD Creator (or Easy Media Creator) does this.

In ITunes, select the files and the convert to AAC format by right clicking and selecting "convert selection to AAC". This process takes a long time, but at the end of it you will be able to play the new files on you IPod.
Hope this helps! :)

Thanks, I'll give it a try, but I think thats where it errors out, after a long time.

You should just be able to add the mp3 files to iTunes and transfer them that way, just like you would an audio mp3.
