What do you write in your statement for a transtion year. I can't hardly imagine writing "....ever since I was a young child, I knew I wanted to do a transition year..." How much time did people spend talking about their eventual goal, RADONC, is that taboo? Do you talk about why Transition year vs. Prelim. I am just plan pooped of writing all this cheesy stuff.

nah you can say you want to go into radonc which requires expertise in medicine, surgery, gyn and peds and thus you picked transitional. That's fair.

I have been told by the dean at my school that I can just submit my rad onc essay to the transitional programs, and that another essay is not necessary. Have I been misinformed?

id modify it to tell why you want transitional year personally. Laziness wont appeal to pd's.
