does ADH act on distal tubule or collecting duct? kaplan says it acts on collecting duct to allow water reabsorption. but princeton review says ADH acts on distal tubule so ..... it says before distal tubule is impermeable to water. i am confused

The collecting duct is impermeable to water normally, but it is responsive to ADH. Thus, ADH acts on the collecting duct to reabsorb water.

The distal tubule is the place where solutes are exchanged (K, Na, Ca)

but princeton review says ADH increase water reabsorption in the distal nephron. it does this by making the distal nephron permeable to water (without ADH, the distal tubule is impermeable to water) someone has a biology book, please help

ADH acts on the distal tubule and the collecting duct.

Aldosterone acts only on the collecting duct.

actually both ADH and Aldosterone acts on both the distal tuble and the collecting duct, the difference is that ADH makes them more permeable to water but aldosterone promotes uptake of solutes, which in turn, passively increases water reabsorption...
