View Full Version : I finished DAT today... Do I still have a chance? bluekty 08-25-2004, 02:49 AM . edkNARF 08-25-2004, 05:14 AM You have a 20/19/21. You are not allowed to say "do I still have a chance." So you got a 16 on RC. Who cares? I got a 16 on QR and the interviews are starting to roll in. I think you should enjoy the fact that the DAT is over, and go out and get incredibly drunk. ScottW3 08-25-2004, 07:45 AM Don't worry so much. Those are still great scores. Especially PAT and QR. The fact that you got a 30 in anything says something. You definately have more than a shot. So smile. :) Pevi 08-25-2004, 08:31 AM and winners never quit. Here are my scores: AA 17 PA 17 QR 16 RC 18 B 18 GC 17 OC 16 TS 17  gpa from undergrad is 2.8 post bacc is 4.0 I'm apalled at my scores. Never did I get such low scores on any of my TS practice tests. In fact, I always nailed the RC section. Why is RC on TS nothing like the real thing???? no me gusta. So here's what I'm going to do now.... take some more science classes this fall, per the Dean of the school I want to go to. Re-take my DATs in November. and ask all the schools to put my application on hold till December. I KNOW I can do well.....I just don't know what happened this time. What do you think? any hope?? bluekty 08-25-2004, 02:05 PM . Rezdawg 08-25-2004, 02:11 PM Blue, I sent you a private message. Pevi 08-25-2004, 04:24 PM I'm not enrolled in a post bacc program because the dean of the school I want to go to, my pre-health advisor and others told me it was not necessary. Instead, I was told by them to take a few undergraduate -ology courses at any 4-year institution and get nothing but As. So this fall, I'm taking 3 ologies as well as taking Kaplan for DATs once again. I think that will prove to them I'm capable of doing the work, knowing it well and also shows my determination, per one of my interviewers at school. however, I do know of one person doing a post bacc program at MCV in Richmond, Va for Dentistry. usually, they don't do the same programs as med school interested students. help any?! Pevi 08-26-2004, 12:24 PM Blue, how did you practice the math to get a 30? I love math and am usually so good at it. I thought I did very well on the test, but clearly I was thinking too fast or something. How can I improve my score? thanks Pevi bluekty 08-26-2004, 01:08 PM . jk5177 09-25-2004, 08:04 AM That's some amazing math scores. I don't think I've ever seen anyone with 30 on any section. You must have gotten everything right or something Dentist 2 be 09-25-2004, 08:21 AM OK some people on this forum are really beginning to piss me off. Do you guys have some sort of low self esteem that when you score in the 20s you say, "Oh, I'm so upset and mad". Do you want other SDNers to be like no you did great, are you nuts, blah blah, blah...What the hell is wrong with you???? Seriously you know national averages are 17 for the DAT and relatively the same for the PAT and if you get a 20 you very well know where you stand!!!! bluekty 09-25-2004, 12:15 PM . bluekty 09-25-2004, 12:19 PM . |
