Pro or Home??


if you're buying it, I'd get the pro. If you;re going to need to attach to real networks (with network, not web, authtentication), get pro. If the machine comes wit home, its fine - I have it on this machine even though I have a couple of licenses right now for XP Pro I could install.

The only real difference between them is the network module.

Home is just a subset of Pro, without all the networking functionality. It's the same engine, with the same stability, and the same security holes.

And to the poster talking about linux- Unix has been the operating system of the future for four decades now. One of these decades it will be the operating system of the day.

Today isn't the day.

Too hard for joe-sixpack to install, configure, and use. Not to mention compatibility with existing programs, and program availability.
