I contacted NYU about my application status.. they told me my application was "on hold" and that the PD will review apps again in mid december and then grant interviews based upon availability. should i just sit tight ? should I contact the PD to express my interest in the program? any advice would be appreciated. thanks!

if you're really interested, send a letter of interest; and have your dept chair make a phone call on your behalf.

i would agree with getting someone to make a call for you, but i don't think that a letter of interest will do you much at this point.
