I'll have a few up in a couple days, provided I find someone to host them for me. I just got back from spending Christmas/New Years/an Indian wedding in Cali. It's funny when aunties and uncles get drunk :D
Artichokes are hot.

I'm there about once a year, sometimes more, so it was nothing new. I came there to escape the bad weather, but the weather there ended up being mediocre at best.
You just graduated...meaning, you graduated in June?
Where will you be next fall?

nimeshshingala 01-16-2005, 03:00 PM I do remember couple of incidents which still make me so happy happened during that one year love commute.
Once she gave me a cadbury's toffee on her birthday. I ate that toffee and preserved that choclate wrapping for several years inside my school book cover. My little sister destroyed it after a fight with me. I did not speak with my sister for 2 months because of her evil act. even now i feel that cadbury sweetness in my tongue when i think abt that cutie or if i see any cycle ricshaw in india during my visit.
The other incident happened during the last day of our school. She tripped and fell down while getting down from richshaw. She bruised her right knee due to fall. I immediately jumped out of the richshaw and held her for support. Then took some spit from my mouth and covered her knee bruise as first aid. I did not know that i would become a doctor in future at that time.
She profusely thanked me in her eyes without a word for my kind act.
I did not declare my love even at that tender wonderful moment. i was too shy. I still remember my first love whenever i examine any knees as a doctor. Tears fill my eyes during knee exams and my patients think that i am a very sensitive and sympathetic doctor.
I should have declared my love to that fourth grader. who knows? she could have been my wife now.I did not see that pretty girl next year. My mother said their family went to america. May be that little girl is aarti who has grown into a beautiful woman. world is too small anyway. you never know.
I think aartii's picture rekindled my love. I hope you guys understand my feelings and please be sensitive. dont make everything in life as joke. thanks.
hey new yorker , I think you have been watching lots of bollywood movies lately

the only thing why i wrote that is because new yorker's story comes straight out of some bollywood love story
i think he saw that movie yesterday and came out with this big story
but he narrated it so well that I think he should be a story writer and give competition to javed akhthar and others in bollywood

your little boy is so cute!
here is my advice...
let him keep going the way he is. listen to the indian music and watch the movies...and he'll pick things up, and eventually, he'll realize that it is so important and he'll develop his own interest in the culture...
(but what do i know...i don't have any kids!)

Ok, there is one thing that you MUST realize. You are bringing your son up in the US, as such, he is going to want to be like the rest of the kids his age.
My advice to you is to let him do that. He will eventually reach an age where he will realize how important his culture/roots are. Trust me, that's what my parents did with me...
I know that's probably hard to swallow, but you cannot force your child into a culture other then the one he already lives in. That, seems to me, like a recipe for disaster.
However, as aarti said, I don't have any kids, so what do I know.

let him keep going the way he is. listen to the indian music and watch the movies...and he'll pick things up, and eventually, he'll realize that it is so important and he'll develop his own interest in the culture...
(but what do i know...i don't have any kids!)
one other thing, make sure he has indian friends his own age. i can't think of a better way to make it easy for him to integrate his indian heritage and surrounding american culture. i'd think that'd make for a good buffer/social support system for him.
and, as you say, you can't "make" him indian. he won't be. he's indian-american, and while that may not make you completely happy, it'll be far worse if you force things onto him and he lashes out against you or takes a path through life you dont' want him to take.
i don't have any kids, either. that i know of. so there's that.
Premedtomed 01-17-2005, 05:51 PM not to interrupt the converation, but if this story is ever going to make it into production in bollywood we really need a song and dance number now.
I second this
Hero and Heroine running around on the streets of Washington D.C. and in the next scene they are back in India  just to make it back to the US in time for another duet
CaptainJack02 01-17-2005, 06:03 PM who plays them in the movie? ;)
Dr_Raghav_Gupta 01-17-2005, 07:05 PM Wow.....Seems like I am in a dreamworld,Funny.I dont believe in love... :D :D But that was a great story.

three compliments from three beautiful ladies, I am flattered, I am blushing!!, my cheeks are red!!!
even though the compliments are for my son!!!!
well thank you ladies
I am indeed the proud father
but as desi as I am , I am begining to get worried because he is loosing his indian identity
his heroes are spiderman, sponge bob square pants , yugiho kids , mr incredible etc etc
and he does not speak my language though we speak our language at home all the time
he does not like to see bollywood movies or eat indian food
give me some ideas folks, ( ek desi baap tumse madad mang raha hai)
mere bache ko phir se hindustani kaise banao????

well.....there is not much of an advice that i can give you instead i would like to share my thoughts with you......No matter how much you want your son to be indianized,he will be whatever he wants to be.......Ofcourse being in America is giving him a different kind of exposure than what he would have had in India but thats the price each indian pays after moving out of the country......but i think he will probably understand the meaning of being an indian only after he crosses his teen years.......i guess it would help if he visited india during his holidays.....n u should talk about nice n interesting things n stories abt india......and most of all STOP WORRYING coz as it is u cant help it !!!!! :)
priyanka 01-17-2005, 08:35 PM wow!!!!!

Upbringing plays a major role in the cultural development of the kid. It is good that you guys talk in an indian language at home. I think the early years of childhood are very very crucial. You are a parent, don't make it easy for yourself, if you want the best from your kid in the future. Play your role, play it smart. If you have joined an indian community yourself, make sure that he gets to hang out with other indian kids. That community should certainly have a religious thing. For one, I saw your kid in garba dress in the pic. Encourage those kind of social functions. Like parasite mentioned, take him to india during his holidays, take pictures, have him look at them time and again, so that his pleasant memories attached with with india will get further reinforced in his mind. It is important that those memories develop because as he grows up he will be able to make more connections. The process will eventually lead in him being proud of being a indian and not opposing the culture. When you tell him something is not right, explain to him why it is not right. I am sure that since you are a modern generation parent, you believe in explaining things logically and satiatingly rather than scolding yelling and hitting. I would exemplify the process of ingraining the cultral values by comparing it to how over time people start prefering McDonalds to fresh fruits. People take their kids to McDonals since the age of one, have them relish the taste of fries and voila, fries are a life long commitment, doing utterly no good to the soul or the spirit. Getting addicted to Mcdonals is like getting addicted to cigarette. the receptors just wont do without a Big Mac anymore and orange juice which is easily grossed upon over 10 spoons of sugary soda. Take the responsibility. I am sure you have a awesome wife who'll cook yummy food for your kid rather than feeding the garbage 3$ fast food.
I have seen many of my indian accomplices who are more indian than I am, even though they were born in the US. Its the role of the parents thats so crucial. If you let him select his way, he'll stumble in the way. He'll take time figuring out what is right for himself.. Well then I ask, what are parents for? Don't be one of those careless parents who care only about money and ignore their cute little saplings who need to be nurtured and supported since day one, until the day out of teens. When he tries to employ his own methods and tastes, and you dont like them, employ methods and plans that will make him think against it. Be a friend, not a hitler person who is dominating. kids tend to oppose dominating behaviors and tend to embrace what their friends have to say... get to his level of intelligence and express them in the same way..let it be fun and not a cage for him. He'll love you for all this as a kid and as an adult.
priyanka 01-17-2005, 08:40 PM And you must notice what I wrote in my last post is very coherent with the adage by Mr. Stephen R Covey, in my signature.

nice advice
nimeshshingala 01-18-2005, 05:22 AM hey guys thank you all for your valuable advice and tips
thank you aarti, buckeye(oh), captain jack 2 ,parasite at work and most importantly priyanka
hey priyanka , you look like a very matured person ,
very good tips on bringing up a child
i am sure you would prove yourself to be an excellent mother
I want my son to get good points from both the western and indian culture
we keep the atmosphere at home as much indian as we can
also he has lots of indian friends in his school
yesterday we took him to an south indian restaurant and when he tasted paper masala dosa, he said ," Dad this is the best indian food I have ever had", it is so yummy!!!!
as priyanka said correctly , you can get addicted to mcdonalds like you get addicted to cigarettes,
and you are also right in suggesting that we parents should not be very dominating because the kid would not like that and will eventually rebel against us
i should constantly feed him on what are good things and what are bad things in life
All I want folks is that my son becomes a good human being and values the importance of life and love and be caring to others
thank you once again guys
you all are great and make SDN the best website to visit everyday.
parasiteatwork 01-18-2005, 06:08 AM All I want folks is that my son becomes a good human being and values the importance of life and love and be caring to others
I agree that in the end this is the most important thing.......
hey, just wanted to say about bringing up children in US -
my parents taught me to respect other cultures, food, religions.. we always had different people at our house visiting, etc. so when i grew up i had friends from different countries,e tc but i also grew strong in my faith and culture. now people who just come from india are surprised that i am the way i am. they think that i'm more indian than them!! and can't figure out why... but this is my choice..
not all of american culture is bad just as not all of indian culture is good. i know i'm over simplyfying.. but my parents taught me the differences and to respect different people and i hope to instill the same in my daughter.
i have worn sarees and churidars to parties... some people appreciate the clothes some don't... i don't waste time with those who don't...
i do educate the ones who are interested. i have friends who are christian, hindu, muslim and jain. from india and from other countries. hopefully i will be able to teach my daughter as my parents did.. if i can do half the job they did with me,,, i'll be happy.
funny isn't it, in learning to appreciate the differences, i have become stronger in my own identity and faith...
sorry to ramble on but hope this helps someone... :D
parasiteatwork 01-19-2005, 05:49 AM my husband is directly from india and he is learning to open up more :) well... he sort of has to being married to a 'out there' woman like me ;)

futuris2kl 01-19-2005, 06:37 AM well....isn't the indian society a mixture of all kinds of ppl ?? the younger generation in cities r open i guess.....but i think that those in the towns or villages have yet to undergo that transformation....think an indian girl (what about a guy ??!) in a small town would go to ...lets say....a disco ? i dunno if i'm rite ...but i think the answer would b no.....

parasiteatwork 01-21-2005, 07:32 AM hey.... just to let you know - i grew up in india(for 17 years!!)! so i know the culture very well thankyou... you seem to forget that there are all kinds of people in india just as there are in any other country. i just meant that his family is not very open - mostly because they haven't been exposed to other cultures and as such he was surprised to see me with friends from other countries - very good friends whom i trust to this day.
so you see i do know about people who live india, their choices, their wishes , their dreams, hopes, etc..... and i know a whole lot more about my own family..... so don't be so quick to judge  :p
Sorry i jumped to conclusions.....u r right, i was too quick to judge.Actually, there r so many ppl who have never been to india(or only on vacations) n they talk bull**** abt the culture n act like they know a lot...so i put u too in the same category.sorry
nimeshshingala 01-21-2005, 07:49 PM Dear aartii,
I am not sure whether it is appropriate to write my personal feelings in an internet forum read by thousands of anonymous good and bad people. I have hardly written letters to anyone in my life. I have written a couple of letters to my dad who lives in india. My dad replied to my letters by marking the grammatical mistakes i committed in my letters to him ( in red ink) and wrote how sad he felt after reading my letter with gross grammar mistakes. I stopped writing any letter to him after that insulting letter from him.
I have thought abt hundred times before posting this letter. Some evil force like tsunami is pushing me hard to write this message to you. Some people like Dr.badvibes might critizise my honest feelings and dismiss this letter as a loser script. Peeping toms like parasite and nimesh read this letter like a pornographic story. wingy could just pass my letter as a routine shi$ by NYer.
lata may wish that her kids would never turn up in life like NYer who posts love letter in an internet forum.
aarti... i just want to tell you one thing. I dont care about anyone in SDN except you. People dont understand real love. People made fun of my real life story. That is the reason i did not show up here. They all think that it is impossible to fall in love with someone in the internet forum after seeing just a couple of photographs. Do u think that some one cannot develop soft tender feelings of love after seeing another humanbeing's picture image? Is it mandatory to date someone or have sex to fall in real love with someone?. why cant it be a silent love without words spoken like mine. I think my kinda neolove is the future of love.
How come millions of people all over the world fall in love with an invisible person called GOD? How many people have seen god before falling in love?
I really dont know why my body harmonal balance got altered after seeing your pic in this thread for the very first time. I dont know why my cardiac endocardial cells are humming your name melodiously like norah jones for 24/7.
Even 20 mg of diazepam could not bring any somnia to me.
I want to write more aarti.
NYer.
hey new yorker
you have given a new defination to LOVE- I would call it e-love
just like e mail , e books etc etc
Buckeye(OH) 01-21-2005, 10:32 PM hey new yorker

woah...where was that post from, nimesh? i never saw it?!? are you making it up?
nimeshshingala 01-22-2005, 04:20 AM i think new yorker wrote that post and than panicked
but before he could delete the post, I had already replied
common new yorker that was another great e-love letter
I really admire you and I have respect for your love
I am not
if you write more such letters , I am sure you will change Aarti's harmonal balance as well,
so continue writing those beautiful letters and bring joy and happiness to aarti's life.
go new yorker go
we want more of you , be free and get rid of all inhibitions and speak your mind out , don't panic and delete your posts
remember that famous hindi song ," Pyaar kiya to darna kya, jab pyaar kiya to darna kya"
nimeshshingala 01-22-2005, 08:15 AM Dear Nimesh
You have completely misunderstood me. Love has no fear, brother!. I know i am not committing any sin by just loving a beautiful human being called aarti. If human love is a sin world would be filled with billions of criminals. I dont even think having sex with an anonymous person you dearly love is a sin. skin to skin there is no sin, brother.
I know i have not yet impressed aarti because i am no bollywood star. I cannot dance or sing. I cannot do sweet talk like some american gigolos. I am a simple NYer not a Donald Trump to buy a woman whom i purely love to the bottom of my heart for the past few days. In this 21 st century just cannot sell love to a pretty woman. you need a big bank if u wanna a stunner like aartiii. However, i believe in my 150% pure desi love package. I dont have anything except love to offer her.
I always absolutely believed in my dreams and have reached my dreams without failure until now. aartii is my american dream. I am not an endocrinologist to alter her harmonal balance.BTW..i dont want to change this pic thread into my love thread or an internet reality show.
NYer
way to go newyorker

NYer
Wow....Newyorker u r back......with an extraordinary message as usual....BTW u were very wrong in thinking that other people r making fun of u n not believing in your love.....in fact if u have not noticed people were going crazy when u stopped posting(that includes Aarti too) :)
And as far as your love for aarti is concerned....ofcourse everyone will comment about it if u post it on the forum....u should have sent her a PM but then ofcourse we would have not known about it n missed the fun(i m not laughing...not even smiling)anyways, i hope that aarti too falls in love with u....n then u can post the pic of u too together on the forum.
Buckeye(OH) 01-22-2005, 11:30 AM ..i dont want to change this pic thread into my love thread or an internet reality show.
NYer
What? As if you already havent done so?
I'm not going to say I am laughing at you, but seriously, how can you love someone you know NOTHING about?
I mean, do you know where she went to school? Do you know where she is going to school next year? Do you know where she works? I mean seriously, what do you know about her, besides what her face looks like?

hey buckeye
I disagree with you
It is possible to fall in love just by looking at somebody's pic
I will give you an example
millions of people have fallen in love with that famous leonardo da vinci's painting of monalisa
so new yorker , I don't blame you and continue your effort to win over aarti
we will support you whole heartedly
Premedtomed 01-22-2005, 11:49 AM Wow! Some Masala this is, isn't it?
Life bahut boring /so so hey at the moment.
All this romance in the air is interesting.
Carry on NYer
Let's what Aarti has to say

Are you really going to compare falling in love with a person to falling in love with a painting?
Yeah, great comparison.
nimeshshingala 01-22-2005, 12:31 PM Are you really going to compare falling in love with a person to falling in love with a painting?
Yeah, great comparison.
when people fall in love with monalisa , they don't just think of her as a painting!!!
they imagine her as a real person
and new yorker has similarly fallen in love looking at the beautiful picture of aarti
and his imagination has gone wild , looking at all his posts in this forum
and I think it is nothing abnormal
new yorker is brave enough to express his feelings and he needs to be applauded
way to go new yorker

nimeshshingala 01-23-2005, 04:30 PM http://www.jokeornot.com/gallery/Monalisa.jpg
well, comparing aarti to monalisa is like comparing Newyorker with Romeo. I think aarti's picture is more beautiful than monalisa. monalisa did not have guts to show her teeth though. It was a dressed up smile..aarti's smile is a naked smile with utter confidence.i simply love it.
I did not fall in love with Monalisa eventhough millions of other people did.
if you put up monalisa's picture smoking a cigarette , than I think the millions who have fallen in love with her will start hating her

Hey Newyorker! what happened to your yesterdays post? Did you delete it again? come on man, you need to work on your guts. :D
Premedtomed 01-25-2005, 11:27 PM Dear brother ravi-
I really dont have a clue about my new screwed up attitude man. I am writing sumthing emotionally and then feeling very embarrased about my post so.i delete it. Are u talking abt my yesterdays blame it on parasite post? that was a very bad post brother. I cant blame on parasite for everything happened on this thread. I also take some responsiblity. I understand parasite is going to medschool in romania and her state chief minister in india is lallo prasad yadav. he is a screwed up guy like me. It is a lot of stress for a single girl to study in europe. so i am okay with parasite.
hmmm.. aarti. what can i say abt her?
you know what ravi? Love is a dangerous disease. It hurts you without any histopathological changes in your body. Ofcourse there is an iteology for this disease including vector and host. It produces clinical signs and symptoms like disorientation, palpitations, sleeplessness, mixture of elation and depression, sometimes nocturnal erection excetras. Lab tests are negative. I need treatment man! I guess aarti is my doctor. She has the drugs to cure me. I dunno when she gonna open her pharmacy? brutha...i have forgotten basic medical sciences. forgive me for any micrbiological mistakes.
Just ignore me brother like priyanka and lata.
Dont fall in love. alright.
I will give life span for this post for abt 24 hours.
Take it easy my dear friend.

hey new yorker
you have my full sympathies,
your story is turning more like that movie ,"DEVDAS"
I hope you can control yourself in the wake of this new emotional disturbance in your life called " AARTI".
All those clinical signs and symptoms like, disorientation, palpitations, sleeplessness, mixture of elation and depression, sometimes nocturnal erection excetras are a sign of a very dangerous disease called 'LOVE'
i am sure since you are a medical student and you have access to the best medical professionals in the world, but my friend ,believe me , even the best of doctors will not be able to help you out, the only one who can cure you from this dangerous disease is 'AARTI'.
and unfortunately AARTI is not responding to your great DEVDAS type love
hey AARTI, what kind of a stone hearted person are you???
I can understand you are in a very difficult position but you have to help this man who is suffering so much .
by the way parasite is from madhya pradesh , and lalu prasad yadav is the minister of railways in the central govt ( that is why we have one rail accident every month) and his wife rabri devi is the chief minister of bihar
but new yorker my friend, don't loose hope,
your love story has already made SDN , the most popular website in the world
and the indian pic thread has got 4195 hits already
it is like watching an indian tv serial where every week people gather in front of television sets to know what will happen next, the traffic comes to a standstill , there are no people on the road, shopping malls are empty
so new yorker , you are the focus of attention nowadays
and keep continuing your noble effort, we are here to support you
1hotaartichoke 01-26-2005, 10:56 AM hey AARTI, what kind of a stone hearted person are you???
excuse me nimesh, but i am not stonehearted....i just work a TON. i have 2 jobs and i tutor a girl...so if i don't respond ASAP...maybe im working and cannot
and anyways, what can i do for NY-er...i have talked to him just once briefly (and i think he may have been drunk). i have no idea what he looks like, what kind if stuff he is interested in or anything else about him. all i know about him are the things he writes in this thread.
and while it is sweet, unless i know anything more about him, the love is going to have to stay unilateral. :o
oh yeah, and good luck in your interview NY-er :luck:

hey aarti
I offer my apologies
I shouldn't have called you stone hearted,
but those beautiful and poetic letters from Newyorker provoked me to pass that kind of a stupid comment, believe me ,I didn't want to offend you in any way
it looks like new yorker is perfoming "aarti" everyday in front of your picture
you said he talked with you while he was drunk?????
oh my god, I am afraid ,he is going the DEVDAS way
your picture has created a TSUNAMI like earthquake in his body and created those dangerous waves transmitted from his heart to his brain cells and currently the grey matter in his brains are occupied with your name and your picture
so new yorker, aarti wants to know more about you besides your writing skills
and she is right.

Excuse me.....but how dare you blame me for what so ever is happening in your life.....if you cant control yourself from falling in love with some picture, its not my fault...maybe there is something wrong in your head....or maybe there is nothing in there.
And what the hell do u mean by saying"I also take some responsibility"...u better take the entire responsibility....and be happy that i did not read the other post that you deleted.
By the way...i m under no stress,so mind your language.n as far as laloo being my state chief minister...well u r wrong...i have already mentioned that i belong to madhya pradesh.....n so go n read the newspaper first n only then start commenting on others.
AND about being ok with me......u better not take any pangas with me or u have had it...after all I M THE PARASITE :D

And i agree with everyone else on the thread now......that its pathetic to fall in love with someone just by looking at the picture.....

nimeshshingala 01-27-2005, 05:32 PM Nimesh-
As you brought up the grey matter issue- did you hear about the research study comparing grey matter of men and women?
American neuroscience researchers have proved without doubt that women have less grey cells than men. That is the reason they have less mathematical abilities excetras. excetras. In summary, they are not as smart as men.( according to me this study excludes aarti from other women)
Even Harvard president has confirmed this statement even before this study result was published. I want to stress that this is not my personal opinion.
I am quoting only scientific evidence. I dunno why i am thinking abt parasite while reviewing this study. may be scientists are right.
Parasite sister, Please accept my apologies for hurting your feelings.
wow
oh man
this is a very contravercial statment to make
this will ignite another war between the ladies and the men on this forum
I bet parasite will declare a war on you
folks be ready for some deadly fireworks

I said it was lame from day 1. Everyone was all about how romantic it was, blah blah.
I hate to be a dick, but falling in love with a picture, is quite possibly one of the stupidest things I have ever heard.
Nimesh, if aarti doesn't want to reciprocate NYers "love" so be it. Don't be guilting her into "loving" someone she doesn't know the first thing about, just because hes messed up in the head.
I seriously can't believe how ridiculous this "love" thing has gotten, and to think, this WAS a picture page once upon a time.
Buckeye(OH) 01-27-2005, 09:37 PM screw parasite. she is sinister than enterobius vermicularis which causes pruritis ani. :meanie:
after deep analysis of her mudslinging posts i could find only one reason for her angry reaction. She suffers from pathological jealousy due to the fact that i fell in love with aarti's pic instead of her pic. simply a woman thing. I could understand her feelings.
Oh, right you are. I am sure she is just soooooo jealous that some lame internet dude fell in love with some other girl's picture rather than her own.
Does no one else find this funny? (Besides me and parasite).
By the way NYer, since you seem to be quite the stud, what with posting "love" letters and then deleting them, why don't you post your own picture?
parasiteatwork 01-28-2005, 05:32 AM easy easy easy

Nimesh How can u even think of comparing Laxmi bai with me....its a ridiculous thing....she was a great warrior.....a protector of her people, who died fighting against the british just for saving her kingdom.Dont you have any respect for her...it is unfair to use her life as a matter of joke....IT IS NOT FUNNY.
Reasons why u cannot compare Laxmibai with ME(parasite):
1.She fought with the British......I m friends with some of them :)
2.She rode a horse......I have never even touched one :p
3.She got married when she was a kid......I m still unmarried. ;)
4.I m sure (although history books have never commented on it)that she did not have a boyfriend......N this is not the case with me
5.and so on.......
SO plz nimesh before comparing THE GREAT PARASITE to others ,just use your head a bit n think abt it :)
parasiteatwork 01-28-2005, 05:52 AM What if you are bored? or a flirt like me?
Then thats a different matter altogether...but comeon whispering sweet nothings to someone when u do not mean it is a much boring thing than getting bored itself :p
And if u r a flirt......then ofcourse u will find flirting more exciting on the streets of where-so-ever you belong to rather than flirting on the net!!!
BUT in the end the choice is all yours.....be a fool or act like one ;)
parasiteatwork 01-28-2005, 05:54 AM Wow.. I think I really started a flame war between parasite and NYer. That was not my intention at all :o . That was just a initial reaction after the post disappeared.

First of all newyorker, dont believe everything that you read..sometimes things r all wrong n they r meant for people like you (who do not think at all )to believe n this is the way how rumors r spread.oops,i m sorry i cant blame u for not thinking, its not your fault...u dont have a brain..i m sure the doctors diagnosed you as an anencephalic when you were born n so plz accept my sincere apologies,if u can understand what i mean
Maybe women with whom you have been in personal touch have less of grey matter but dear newyorker believe me this is not the case with all the women on this planet...after all the first chapter of biology has taught us that"each human is different" n so quoting the book of life sciences..I M ONE OF THE EXCEPTIONS...with a great functioning brain n so r others on this forum except a few like u

Shut up like i said before MIND YOUR LANGUAGE !!!
I have better things to wish for than to want some stupid guy to fall in love with my picture.....N jealous   ..thats the funniest thing i have ever heard...to want some faceless, nameless, brainless guy to fall in love with me  believe me i would eat dead rats instead!!!
parasiteatwork 01-28-2005, 06:10 AM Please dont compare Jhansi with an air-head.

you seem to be an ultrasensitive lady
after all we all are indians
we are just having fun, don't take everything so seriously
you think new yorker is very seriously in love with aarti??
common!!!
we all know he is just having fun and keeping the indian forum alive
after all the british succeeded in ruling our country for 200 years because they managed to divide us
so take it easy parasite , don't get overly excited by such small things

Singh 01-28-2005, 11:59 AM Seeing how my Indian collegues are showing how they look, why should Dr. Singh keep back?
1Hotaartichoke, Buckeye, Junebuguf and all you others: You're all good-lookers, but then again, Indians are the most beautiful people in the world. :)
So now you're warned people. If you see this man on the picture looking lost in the Operation theathre and holding a leg in his hand asking: "Did you say leg or appendix?" .. then you know it's Dr. Singh.
Have fun guys.
Best regards, Singh.

Hello Nimesh.
Thanks for the compliment.
Yes, I am studying medicine in Denmark. Actually at the time being I am taking a break from my studies to work on a research project where I am looking at the effects of hyperglycaemia on the outcome after subarachnoidal hemorrhage in rat models. Very exciting indeed! I have completed 3 years of medicine, so three years remaining. :)
How about you Nimesh? Are you a medical student in Canada?

hi Dr Singh
that's very interesting
so are you living in denmark or you have just gone there to do medicine??
are you going to practise medicine in denmark or usa ???
I am currently residing in toronto-canada
I have got acceptance at the University of California in San francisco for the international Dentist program , will join the program in june 2005 and hopefully earn my DDS degree in June 2007
I will offer free Dental services to all the SDN people after I graduate
I know for sure that Aarti will not require my services as she has excellent teeth and a mind blowing "SMILE"  (new yorker will agree with me)
well it was nice to know about your proffession, do post your research findings on this forum and educate us
Singh 01-29-2005, 08:31 AM Hi Nimesh.
I am born and raised in denmark, and this is why I chose to study medicine here. Desipite this, I am Indian at heart:-) I can imagine it would be difficult to complete an M.D. degree in denmark without being fluent in danish (since all our lectures and classes are in danish).
I am not sure where I want to practice medicine in the future. The States have crossed my mind, but they are not my frist priority. I might even stay in denmark for the rest of my career.
Very pleased to hear about you offering free dental services :D
If my research project is a success and gets published (I hope it will be) I will be sure to provide my colleagues on SDN with the link :)
You mention the International Dental programme.. Do tell us more about this course. What distinguishes this programme from a "regular" dental programme. How long does it take? And what are your future oppurtunities?

it was very nice to know that inspite of being born and brought up in Denmark, you are still INDIAN at heart
International Dentist program is offered to Foreign Dental Graduates who had their Dental education in a foreign country
I have done my Dentistry from bombay-India
it is a fast track program which gives you a DDS degree in two years instead of the regular four years,
the degree is recognised in canada where I am a permanent resident and will soon be a canadian citizen
hope to start my practise in canada after I graduate
nimeshshingala 01-29-2005, 08:59 AM looks better than NYer according to parasite@work. :(

Singh 01-29-2005, 09:22 AM Hi NewYorker.
Nice to meet you too brother - and thanks a lot for the compliment. I would love to tell you more about my project.
As I said, we're looking at how acute hyperglycaemia occuring immediately after SAH affects outcome. It is a well-known fact that hyperglycemia aggrevates ischemic neuronal damage due to the lactate-induced acidosis. In vitro studies have shown that glucose per se can be damaging to neuronal cells. Since we're using rat models, we will measure outcome using in vivo microdialysis (which uses the principle of diffusion to gather a sample representative of the extracellular fluid).
We will induce a subarachnoidal hemorrhage in the rats by injecting blood from the heart or the jugular vein into the subarachnoidal space through the cisterna magna. Afterwards we will inject either inject the rats with glucose/saline or destroy their beta-cells using streptozotocin. After this we will bore a hole in the skull of the rat and place a probe in the corpus striatum.
Two days after we will gather ECF samples from the rat brain using microdialysis. By looking at certain parameteres such as glucose, pyruvate, lactate, glycerol and glutamate we can see how hyperglycaemia has affected the brain mileau as compared to normoglycaemia.
We don't perform any sort of scans.
Not much to say about Denmark. I haven't really been to north america yet, so it is difficult for me to compare. Denmark is alot like Great Britain in many respects.
You have been working with head trauma patients? Please tell us more. Are you currently a medical student in NY?
1hotaartichoke 01-29-2005, 10:35 AM Dear aarti-
Firstly, accept my apolgies from the bottom of my heart for putting you into a bad spot light due to unforeseen incidents in your thread. It is not my intention to divert your thread in a different angle. It is true that i posted some of my personal intimate feelings in this thread which i deleted later. i have every right to post something and delete in this free world and free internet highway.
no apologies necessary NY-er. im ok with this thread going whichever way, unless it goes towards fighting. can't we all just get along  :D
I dont even know your background or religion or education or vital statistics or anything. Buckeye asked the same questions. what kind of an idiot is NYer to fall in love without knowing anything. Right! he thinks modern love comes with a curriculum vitae and bank statement of account. plus credit balance.
  you're very funny.
I hope YOU understand my feelings. Do u ALSO think that NYer is stupid?
If you think that i am jerking around..please let me know. I will stop mentioning your name ever in SDN or may be, i will consider resigning from my beloved SDN.
still in love
NYer
Ny-er, you flatter me too much. :o i don't think you are stupid, and im not sure if your 'jerking around.' if you are being serious, i respect you for having the balls to post it on this public forum. i know if i was in the same situation, i would not be so brave. this whole thing has left me kinda speechless, so forgive me for the short reply. :p
ps: no i don't sing...sorry :o
1hotaartichoke 01-29-2005, 10:46 AM I am trying to post my 1/2 naked picture from my files. It says my file is too large. How to post like thumb print image?
you have to use like microsoft pic editor to resize it...
you can send it to me ;) , i'll resize it for you
Singh 01-29-2005, 01:09 PM Interesting study singh.
WoW! bore hole in the rat skull? who does that? vet-neurosurgical team? It is so stupid of me to ask about CT scans. May be there are CT scans for small animals too. Keep up the good work.
Do u have other indian medstudents in your class? In america..there are so many medstudents of indian origin. they rule!
I am not aware of any CT-scans for rodents, but there might be. However I don't think there's much potential in such scans, since it's far easier to just open the whole damn thing and see what's inside. :D
Unfortunately there aren't so many Indians at my university. We're some 3000 students, and I suppose there are around 10-15 indians. Yeah I've heard america is loaded with indians. Must be really good to be surrounded by so many indians at school.
nimeshshingala 01-29-2005, 02:28 PM Here you go. aarti got :scared: after seeing my pic.

Very funny Mr-not-so-funny Newyorker, well,my avatar signifies that If u ever take pangas with me,the parasite......then,your nearly empty head will become completely empty.
And your misinterpretation of my avatar has proven this that you can never get infected coz your head is already EMPTY
parasiteatwork 02-01-2005, 09:33 AM What is ugliness? I dont consider anyone is ugly to my eyes. As i said in my deleted post yesterday everyday i learn about life and get maturity every single day.
Today i saw this patient in my clinic 34 year old man with severe burning facial pain who could not sleep, could not eat properly and cannot lead normal life. He got this maxillary facial tumor with spreading mets which has distorted his face after multiple facial surgeries. Now, he is suffering from complex regional pain syndrome. He wears mask to cover his mid face and wears sunglasses because to avoid exposure keratitis. He cannot close his eyes because of lid surgeries. People like him are high risk of suicide.
His wife has divorced him.
His 80 year old father brings him to regular appointments. You cannot see him for more than 2 mins because it disturbs you and makes you sad. he still lives with hope that some doctor could help to reduce his pain. My heart shed tears for this unfortunate guy. He is one of the kind of case who is going to remain im memory for a very long time.
Do i feel envy towards those hottest indian males like salman butt khan or arjun dick rampal? not anymore! Am i depressed for not having sculpted nose like hritik? Do i give a F&*# about not having a candy face or butter butt? I am just happy for what i have. I believe in my brains more than fragile looks.
Does anyone want to see my picture.? let me know. I will e-mail my blown up poster to you. However, i had the guts to post my topless pic in this thread.
parasite...do you think that you can impress me with your new pic? Are u gonna wear victoria secrets panties and armani sunglasses to show off?
Give me a try. Buck eye..dont ask me why i drooled on seeing aarti's pic? It is more than beauty. something magical.
Folks-
post your pictures in aartis thread. I will love each and everyones pic. i promise. you all are beautiful.
Newyorker, first of all you have no guts to post your picture n when others post their pictures...somehow you interpret it as if they r posting their pictures to impress you......I posted my picture in this thread coz its an indian pic page(if u remember) n i m a indian n moreover i m not like you to post some desi hero's picture(rajnikant) as if it was mine :p
BTW what do the two women in your picture signify...... ;)

Buckeye(OH) 02-01-2005, 12:55 PM What do you want to see in my another pic, aarti? Do you want to check out my Biceps muscle size or my gluteus maximus size? Are u gonna check out my buccal pad of fat? I dont want my aarti to be so superficial.
Even if i have like 8 inches size biceps with butt like a bull-dozer. It is temperory aarti. Everything is gonna atrophy soon due to degeneration. Look at your governator.
Believe the grey cells and betz cells of my brain. It is gonna get sharper and sharper when i get old. It is the real beauty which is gonna glow when we both get old. Imagine the happiness which i am gonna bring when we both take a stroll in california beaches when i turn 60 and you turn 40 after my retirement. Take right decision and invest in your future. Dont look for short term benefits.:)
Dude, chances are, if she ain't attracted to you physically, she ain't gonna be attracted to your mind.
Good luck with that.
1hotaartichoke 02-01-2005, 01:18 PM ok NYer, i have some questions for you:
1) how old are you? (you said when you turn 60 and i turn 40, so your 20 yrs older than me?)
2) how tall are you? (6 ft?)
3) do you think im superficial?
i do agree that looks are overrated. they can be gone in the blink of an eye. but i have to have some idea of what you look like in general. so no, i don't a pic to see if you measure up to brad pitt, i am curious as to what you do look like.
1hotaartichoke 02-01-2005, 01:44 PM 1. I am younger than Brad pitt and George Clooney. ;) But smarter than both of them.
so you are in your 30s.
3. Not yet.
You are making me nervous!
im glad that you don't think im superficial, but why am i making you nervous?
oh and 6 ft
Buckeye(OH) 02-01-2005, 01:47 PM Wanna Bet?

Buckeye(OH) 02-01-2005, 08:05 PM I think in order for that to happen, at the very least the two people should know what each other look like.
However, probably no one on here agrees with that statement.

Dr.BadVibes 02-01-2005, 09:03 PM The posts from the girls on this thread are the EXACT reasons why Ive told my parents to be prepared for me one day to NOT marry an Indian girl.
Indian girls are always so sheltered by their parents and as a result they have very little life experience and end up being so clueless and retarded as this thread has nicely portrayed.
Its a shame though, cause I find myself attracted to many Indian girls and I know that it would make my parents happy, but seriously, Indian girls just dont get it.

nimeshshingala 02-02-2005, 04:48 AM The posts from the girls on this thread are the EXACT reasons why Ive told my parents to be prepared for me one day to NOT marry an Indian girl.
Indian girls are always so sheltered by their parents and as a result they have very little life experience and end up being so clueless and retarded as this thread has nicely portrayed.
Its a shame though, cause I find myself attracted to many Indian girls and I know that it would make my parents happy, but seriously, Indian girls just dont get it.
we needed a villian for this exciting story and finally we have one
I think the indian girls would be better off without you,

he better. ..But even if he writes THat to get us all goin ,I dont think, thats the right way to start with. :thumbdown :thumbdown He should look into himself first  ,before looking into others...
Buckeye(OH) 02-02-2005, 08:24 PM I totally agree with you, aarti. It is better to ask questions and clarify things before our fusion. I hope you dont mind me asking questions like you.
I also agree there is a small age difference between us. Ofcourse, i am chronologically older than you, but mentally i am much younger than 99% of SDNers. Even younger than you. Does that make you happy? Age is just count of numbers, aarti. I know so many physicians and medstudents who are in late 20s and 30s feel like and behave like menopausals. Age is the index of mind. It is just what you feel like. I dont feel like i have crossed my 20s. I dont think i ever gonna feel that in my life.
You dont have to feel so embarrased abt our age difference. Look at Mr & Mrs. Salman Rushdie. also Mr & Mrs Clint Eastwood. What abt Mr & Mrs Mike Douglas? Aren't they HOT couples?. Some women are smart. They know mature men are sexy!
Eventhough i argue with you about my younger mental age, i know i cannot stop my physical aging and changes due to happen in future. may be some stem cell research advances can help me to retard aging process in the next decade.
My questions are..
1. Can you cope adjusting life changes like when you turn 40 and your partner developing signs and symptoms of aging like prostate hypertrophy, osteoarthritis, slowness excetras?. May be there is a possiblity of me using bathroom during nighttime more frequently than you due to BPH. I may turn on the bedroom lights more frequently. I am wondering will that be an issue if any relationship starts between us?
2. I dont think i am gonna need viagra or cialis. but, you never know.
3. Will you ever consider putting your partner into a nursing home?
Thanks in advance for answering my questions.
Honestly, this has to be the most ridiculous crap I have ever read in my life. If you are seriously, seriously resorting to this as a way of finding your life partner, then you have issues.
I am curious to know, why are you making this so public? I mean you have to feel like a retard and know you are getting ridiculed (to which I am sure you will reply, "but I am in love, so it doesn't matter.") Why dont you take this bull**** and pm it to her? I mean why must your aarti dearest be forced to answer akward questions like, will you care if I can't get an erection, or will you put me in a nursing home, in front of the rest of us
Obviously, I can't speak for her, but if I were her, I would feel akward at the position you have placed me in. Not only does she not know a damn thing about you (besides the fact that you are messed in the head), she doesnt even know what you look like (and people will argue ad nauseum about it, but we ALL know there has to be some physical attraction).
You are seriously, seriously, seriously in need of a mental checkup. But per your request, I will be more then happy to serve as best man at your wedding.

.........Yikes!!!!!!!!! :scared: :scared:
Dr.BadVibes 02-02-2005, 08:58 PM Im not trying to get anybody riled up....its so true. My mom always sees me going out with non-Indian girls and gets mad at me.....but I tell her that 99% of Indian girls are so sheltered and protected by their parents, they really dont have any life experiences and thus have very little personalities and they become like the people in this thread....clueless losers with horrid sense of humours.
Also, I tend to see Indian girls (and just Indian people in general) always hang out with other Indian people....now there is nothing wrong with having friends within your culture, but gimme a break...its almost always exclusively Indian people hanging out together. ANd the result? Indian people are just not cultured outside of the Indian culture....
sorry, I guess its a personal preference, but to me, there are other wonderful cultures out there other than the Indian culture, and that shows with my friends and girlfriends....its always been a cultural mosaic with me.
It would be nice to just meet an Indian girl who wasnt controlled by her parents for her whole life, actually knows stuff other than whats in science textbooks, independent (thats a big one which will be impossible to find), and is well-cultured (well-travelled would be the best way to do that in my opinion). Does that girl exist? Im sure...but its just a Needle in a haystack my friends....
And by the way, I totally agree with Buckeye about NewYorker...dude you need some serious help. You must be one boring dude, cause all you talk about is medical science....geez, there is more to life that impressing other Indians with medical knowledge.....I just hope no one is buying it.

Dont you think you should know a person really well before asking such questions...n i dont think anyone really asks such questions....n if u say u r really in love with aarti then in that case all these stupid questions r useless or should i say that although your body is getting older ,your mind is detiorating :p

Nimesh, Atlast the realisation has dawned upon you...thank GOD for small mercies
OMG ... so much going on...
i was gone for sometime... had to have a lap chole done! i didn't fit the profile so the docs had some difficulty even with the ultrasound showing the stones! it was quite educational!! :D
some time soon we've got to have a 'indian forum' night out or something like that... maybe a weekend meet.... and see how this goes down between aarti and NYer!!
NYer - u r a very funny man. i bet ur patients adore u!
Nimeshji - hello again and everyone's doing well. how's ur son? what does ur wife do? she should join us here!
Dr. BadVibes - u must be in a closeted community if all the indian girls u meet don't have much wordly experience! where r u from?

Nimeshji - hello again and everyone's doing well. how's ur son? what does ur wife do? she should join us here!
Hi lata
welcome back, it is always nice when you are writing for this forum
I am so confused as to why people (yourself, ravi, premedtomed) refer to me as
"NIMESHJI", it makes me feel very old and some kind of a father figure here
even though I am a DAD, I am not that old,
My wife is too shy to come on a public forum and besides she is ultra busy as she is a full time student at Mcmaster university in hamilton which is about 2 hours one way from where I live , She is doing a Medical Laboratory Technologist course and will be finishing in June
Besides that She has to do the cooking as I only know how to make "omlette"

well it is kind of fun to visit the Indian forum especially reading New yorker's extraordinary love letters displaying his Knowledge of Medicine
well do come and contribute to this forum and please, please ,please don't call me "NIMESHJI"
sorry about making u feel 'old'... didn't mean that...
sooooo... what is this i hear about only knowing how to make an omelette???
i think the guys who don't want to cook just don't put any effort into it so the wife has to cook... ' ! :D :D is that what ur doing... j/k i'm sure that u r a wonderful husband!
where is everyone?? did i scare people away?? :o
back to studying... :meanie: genetics is sooo boring...

Sorry Nimesh, that was not my intention. It was just a way of showing respect. I have a five year old son myself (do you think I am a Dinosaur   ). :D :D
Hey guys, I realised that I never really introduced myself  ( I guess, I just barged in..... :o ). Well, looking at my username you might think I am a guy (I remember newyorker calling me brother....), but I am a gal and the username is my son's name. :) Before I rarely visited India forum for the reasons others mentioned (I guess I agree with some of the "Villans" on this thread  ). After I started reading the love story, I just wanted to see the progress. And now I think it is one BAD love story between a psychologically impaired person and a sweet young lady( Newyorker Kinda reminds me of Sharuk in Dar. ). I guess most of the people on this forum are grown up (atleast mentally) and nobody takes this thresd seriously (atleast I hope). Good Luck guys.

hi ravi (or maybe I should call you ravi's mom)
nice to know more about you
I never use to visit Indian forum myself, only visited SDN for the purpose of getting some information to get into a dental school. But now that I have got admission , I was giving information to people who are still trying to get into dental school, Till one fine day I accidently discovered the India forum.
people have called New yorker all kinds of things ranging from "mentally deranged, looser, sick, insane, gutless, etc etc but we have to admit one thing about him
he has the power to attract many people to read his long stories
that is why this thread which started as a picture thread has become a big love story and like a soap opera, people come to see what will happen next??
how will aarti respond?? how will parasite ridicule the story?? how will buckeye dismiss it as another crap with his typical american slang??
of course nobody is taking it seriously
it is just read to have some fun and some kind of entertainment to get away from our routine boring life
so I hope more people like you come and contribute and keep this Indian forum going
I agree we should also have more threads dealing with the indian subjects
hi 'ravi'... welcome...
now that i know u r a woman, it feels wierd to call u ravi  anyway, did u post ravi's picture yet? if not, please do so... after all this is indian pic page! (started out with pics of sdners and now of their kids as well  )
this is a fun place .. and i've enjoyed coming to this forum.... and i think people take it easy when they come here to just talk about family, etc and ofcourse the 'love story' that's going on ....
Dr.BadVibes 02-03-2005, 03:30 PM Dr. BadVibes - u must be in a closeted community if all the indian girls u meet don't have much wordly experience! where r u from?
Im from Toronto where there is an Indian on every corner. Also I did my undergrad at the University of Toronto - Erindale campus which was basically a 100% Indian university...wouldnt call that a closeted community....but it was always teh same story with every Indian person I met.....a funny stereotype if you will...and still...never met one "worldly" person...
1hotaartichoke 02-03-2005, 04:47 PM and still...never met one "worldly" person...
maybe that reflects upon the kind of person that you are....

Well then maybe you need to get out more :) Actually, I think if you had gone to a more diverse school, you would have met Indian gals who have been to other countries and who have experienced other cultures.
rxgal8 02-03-2005, 06:32 PM ... it was always teh same story with every Indian person I met.....a funny stereotype if you will...and still...never met one "worldly" person...
by "worldly" do you mean well-traveled, knowledgeable about other cultures, or both? i consider myself wordly and same goes to my friends also. not all indians hang out with each other only (although most do, i agree on that).
Im from Toronto where there is an Indian on every corner. ..
hey, true... true.. met many indians from toronto.. actually many sri lankans from toronto.. just .. my school attracted the sri lankans from toronto i guess.. anyway, i'm surprised that you haven't met indians with diverse backgrounds and opinions... that's sad.. but there have been different views represented here on this thread as well that may not be 'narrow' views... do u know what i mean?
what kind of experiences have u had that made u feel :thumbdown about indian girls here?
tinkerbelle 02-03-2005, 06:47 PM I dont want to be in death bed after some 4 or 5 decades dying of chronic love failure looking at arti pic in the corner with unfull-filled love. no kidding folks. i will wait whatever time it takes to conquer aarti.
Are you actually serious? Because that's just a little scary. You need to chill out a little bit. Obsessive guys are a total turnoff.
It is a very good idea to have a NYC desi meet. Did anyone see that hot kiss pic in the lounge of Rendar & Dr.Yo after that SDN- NYC meet? You are gonna see a pic of NYer & aarti like that if that dream desi meet works out.
I hope for your sake, you're attractive. As other posters have said, you may be a great guy, but unless Aarti finds you somewhat attractive, you're going to be very, very dissapointed.
Good luck with everything newyorker :luck: I hope you eventually find what you're looking for
tinkerbelle 02-03-2005, 07:01 PM tinker-
Fine. I will just die like my patient without un-fullfilled love. Are u happy? Dont pass statements to depress and hurt my feelings after a long hardworking day. I will e-mail my pic to you.
well i wasn't trying to be mean :( i was just trying to be honest with you. If you want to pursue Aarti, fine, but you have a better chance of being successful if you act a little less dramatic and obsessive. Sorry if i hurt your feelings :(
hi 'ravi'... welcome...

Actually Ravi is a part of my last name too, so I am used to that. Coming to posting my son's picture, I am too lazy to do that. Hopefully, in near future I will do it (but I have to take my son's permission first :D . He is five and he acts as if he is a grown up).
Newyorker, what can I say?......May be you are a very good Doctor and may be the best teacher at your hospital, but you are giving a totally opposite impression here. Good luck :luck:
tinkerbelle 02-03-2005, 07:18 PM I appreciate your honesty. I myself feel that i have some obsession over this and have admitted before that i suffer from minor OCD. Actually this OCD had helped me in my career. Studies have proved minor OCD is cool.
I also suffer from Narcisstic personality disorder.
Give me some hints tinker regarding my pursuance. It is OK people hurt my feelings all the time.
awwww. i really didn't mean to hurt your feelings. now i feel bad :(
it's impossible to give you tips on how to pursue aarti. i don't know her and every girl is looking for something different. I'm sure you'll figure it out eventually. good luck :luck:
I hate myself. I wish i never came to this forums. :(
Thanks guys for your nice compliments.
Take care.
special thanks to Ms. Ravi.
Oh ...........Newyorker, these are anonymous forums and sometimes people take it for granted to pass comments on others( including you ;) ). Don't take them serious. I don't know why you specially thanked me, if you meant that in a sarcastic way, I really meant good luck in your future. :(
Dr.BadVibes 02-03-2005, 08:10 PM Well then maybe you need to get out more :) Actually, I think if you had gone to a more diverse school, you would have met Indian gals who have been to other countries and who have experienced other cultures.
Perhaps your right....everyone at my uni was basically caught up with getting into med or law school that they simply had no life....but its weird that when I goto Indian family functions, most Indian kids were the same, so I just assumed that this was a common thing among Indians...
Dr.BadVibes 02-03-2005, 08:12 PM by "worldly" do you mean well-traveled, knowledgeable about other cultures, or both? i consider myself wordly and same goes to my friends also. not all indians hang out with each other only (although most do, i agree on that).

Actually, Toronto has the most Sri Lankans outside of Sri Lanka and one of the largest Indian population outside of India. IT also has the most Italians outside of Italy and the second most Greeks outside of Greece. Also, more people speak Mandarin as their native tongue than English in Toronto.
According to the United nations, Toronto is the most culturally diverse city in the world (not NYC like most people think).
Now you know! :D
nimeshshingala 02-03-2005, 08:19 PM I hate myself. I wish i never came to this forums. :(

Buckeye and Dr.Badvibes: Thanks guys for telling the truth! I really need treatment.
Nimesh: I will miss u man!
Parasite: miss u too.
aarti: I dunno what to say to you.
hey new yorker

we didn't want a tragic end to your beautiful love story!!!
common, stop behaving like a kid,

be a man and fight to win your love, there will be all kinds of people who will be making fun of you , ridicule you, and create all kinds of hurdles
but you have be a real man to go pass all this hurdles
in one of your posts , you said you were born to win
why are you giving up so easily
common! fight like a man

rxgal8 02-04-2005, 02:08 AM how do you consider you and your friends "worldly?
well, we hang out with everyone (don't have to be indians). we do other stuff than just going to those indian parties/clubs. we can pretty much relate to most cultures and have a good time with other non-indian ppl.
myself...i've traveled a lot and lived in two other countries.
btw i know a lot of indians (in my undergrad) who hung out with only indians but that's probably just because they feel like they can relate more with each other. nothing wrong with that, right?
what do you mean by "worldly?"
tinkerbelle 02-04-2005, 03:16 AM myself...i've traveled a lot and lived in two other countries.
hey, where else have you lived? i don't suppose you're a military brat like me? I've lived in Japan and the Philippines and I thought it was such a great experience. Life is so different overseas :)

1hotaartichoke 02-04-2005, 03:50 PM hey new yorker...
hope that everyone wasn't being too mean to you.
as per the questions you asked me, there is only one thing you need to learn about me: I'm VERY stubborn. :p
aarti: I dunno what to say to you.
about this. this sounds so depressing. don't be down :D you sound like are mad or me or hate me or something, which isn't fair either b/c i haven't done/said anything mean to you...
anyways, if you are really going to leave the forum for good. i wish you luck in everything that you do in life :luck:

What countries have u been to?
Also, I never brought up the term "worldly"....I think ravi made that up....I dont think that one needs to travel or something to learn about different cultures....its def the best way, but I understnad that people dont have the money or time to do it.
But there are MANY MANY other ways to learn about other cultures and gain some life experience. I just think hanging out wiht only Indians blinds you to what else is out there.

you still never answered what makes you so "worldly" and experienced. i feel that by stating that indian girls suck, you have just proven that you are ignorant and close-minded yourself...thereby making your judgement totally worthless....
sorry.
Dr.BadVibes 02-04-2005, 05:36 PM What makes YOU so worldly badvibes? you are so quick to judge others, but what gives you that authority?
Well I think I had already mentioned this in another thread, but I think of myself as a globetrekker.....I love independent travelling and just grabbing a backpack and backpacking around different countries.....I am very fond of visiting and studying rural areas, because they are usually untouched and display the utmost extreme of most cultures...plus the people in rural areas are extremely friendly and welcoming......staying at a strangers home, hitchiking, going to dinner with locals you just meet....doing stuff like that and not the typical touristy stuff really allows one to experience a certain culture I have found....
I have backpacked to 27 different countries so far, and have lived in 5 different countries. I plan on travelling to tons more countries and am currently doing a dual dental degree with a focus in International pediatric dental public health so I can spend my entire career abroad and working with children of different cultures. I have had so many adventures and life experiences along the way and have met so many people from around the world. I have plenty of friends around the globe, and as I already mentioned, my friends at home are a cultural mosaic from all parts of the world.
I am extremely proud to be Indian-Canadian, and I think the most rewarding thing is to teach my friends from around the world about the Indian culture.
So hopefully that answers your question aarti.
And as having the authority to judge others....Like I said in my previous post, I wasnt necessarily meaning that someone had to be well travelled to be worldly....thats just my interest, but other people can do it via other ways....but I just think that Indians shelter themselves way too much by (a) either hanging out with ONLY/MOSTLY Indians (b) immersing themselves in ONLY the Indian culture (c) constantly studying under the watchful eye of your parents in order to become a doctor/lawyer at all costs

ok, but how did you get that all the indian girls in this thread are that way?
i have travelled to 20 countries, and am adding spain to the list (im leaving next friday) and greece (in march). i dated a white guy for 4 yrs, and then an indian guy for almost a yr. the white guy is a great guy who im still friends with, while the indian guy is an *******. that doesn't mean all indian guys are *******s...just cuz 1 was. it seems like you got burned by 1 indian girl, and are now bitter at all of us. and yeah i hang out with indians, but i hang out with tons of other people too. i lived with indians my last 2 yrs in college, and it just a different experience. this is the indian forum so we are OBVIOUSLY going to be talking about indian stuff.
and no one on this thread has said ONCE even that they are only doing med/dental/pharm b/c their parents wanted them to. :thumbdown

omggg, i think i know who you are. the indian guy....four lettered name? i dont know him enough to say if he's an ******* or not but someone i know knew him.
now i'm jealous, i wish i was going to spain and greece next week instead of studying for midterms.

streetlight 02-04-2005, 07:40 PM Ofcourse you are allowed ;). Post your picture now :D . So, you are in high school? What are doing here? go enjoy your life, you have 3 more years to worry about this process. Good luck in your journey. :luck:
Yeah I'm in high school. Well it can't hurt to start too early right? I'll be attending MIT next fall (early admission) and am pretty scared about the pre-med process.
Well pictures lets see...
i have a few stage pictures ( i play in a band as you can see )

haha..to make this more cryptic for people who don't know what we are talking about:
i have nothing against that girl. i honestly have never talked to her or had any real interactions around her. she just acted all wierd around me b/c of said guy. but i honestly have no thoughts on her (good or bad). (although i do hear lots of bad from people, and not just the guy). me and the guy don't talk anymore, and its so much better that way. :D
