Can we estimate the blood loss in a long bone fracture?
What is the estimated blood loss in femur fracture?

By convention blood loss in a closed femur fracture is b/t 1-2 liters. This is as per ATLS protocol and can be found in the ATLS handbook. I do not know the primary literature that leads us to this conclusion.
