IMG from Greece here.

Not as good/lucky as the canadian fellow (btw I am currently in Montreal myself).

Will try again next year...

Going back under the covers now to cry some more... :(

Hope you will surely match next time.I am yet to go through this formidable process.
Congrats brendang! Any word of advice for your fellow IMGs? If you are comfortable sharing some info like your scores, how many programs did you apply, how many interviews, visa status etc,we all shall be very grateful to you.

Board Score: 238 Step 1; Pending Step 2
Reputation of Med School: Saba (Caribbean)... 'Nuff Said...
Research: 2 first-author publications in Cardiology Texts, 1 paper presented at National Conference in Ophthalmology
Honours: All but Surgery
Rotations: 2 @ University of Toronto
Applied to 60 programs with only 5 interviews (I doubt that most programs just didn't even bother to read my application)...
Matched at no. 1 choice LSU-New Orleans...
Things that helped: 2 Big-Wig letters, publications, laid back personality and well-rounded interests (you know, the whole "human" factor...)
Things that probably hurt (as far as getting more interviews): Being Canadian & the whole "you go to a Caribbean school?" response with the obligatory apologetic frown... Regardless, I matched and happy about it!
