Is it acceptable to do second looks at 2 places?
I would like to bring my husband with me to visit my top 2 programs, so that we can decide together which to rank #1. They are in 2 very different cities, and I think my husband (also in medicine) should have a say in where we will work and live.
Thanks

I don't see why it wouldn't be acceptable, unless you tell both places that they're your #1 choice.
Out of curiosity, how is that you're going to such great lengths (e.g. going on second looks, bringing the husband) to choose between your #1 and #2 program, while the rest of us are just hoping to match at any of our top choices? Are you couples matching?

Don't get me wrong, I am also just hoping to match in plastics.
However, I will be dragging my husband wherever I go, and I don't want to force him to live and work somewhere he would not be happy. My husband could not join me on the interview trail, but I would like him to have a say in my rank list.

That sounds fair and reasonable...and especially considerate of you...to include him in this process. It's pretty wise as well, cause if he is miserable, he might make you miserable, and that could turn into a six-year-long nightmare.
Well I hope we both get our #1 choice. Let's just get this damn thing over with already!
