Although I know that many people here do not like IMGs I wouldjust like to say that we are also human-beings and that in the end if we do get a spot somewhereit is because we deserve it. At the same time there is definite discrimination against us from ophtho progs, since I have been told from more than one source that in many cases if your application has a non-US medical school they do not even bother to go through it...

This said I am trying to appeal to the humanitarian-gollegial side of all the optho-sdners and will ask if anyone knows of specific optho-progs that have been known to either accept or give interviews to IMGs.

LSU-Shreveport matched 2 of 3 spots this year with IMGs.

university of arkansas had an IMG resident

Utah matched one IMG last year--however, he had PhD from strong ophtho program here in the US.

I matched at LSU-New Orleans... Went to a Caribbean med school (Saba), worked my ass off and did some awesome away electives... I'm Canadian which also posed a problem, but I went with the J1 visa knowing I can come back to do a fellowship here during the 2 year home requirement...

UMDNJ-Newark and Univ. of Pitt both have IMGs

Henry Ford definitely interviews/accepts IMGs. I wish you the best of luck man! :luck:

I think UF Gainesville has two - one Indian grad and one Carribean grad. Brown had IMG's too, also UVA.

I also matched at LSU-New Orleans.. I am Colombian and graduated from a Colombian med school... did two observerships in different institutions and am doing research at Bascom Palmer... I think that helped a lot!! Good luck.

Louisville KY also seemed IMG friendly

Just wanted to bump this up and see if there are any new comments regarding the whole IMG friendly hospitals. I ahve searched the forum and have foudna few similar threads but only this one had some ideas.
