View Full Version : GTown Class of 2009
vhawk 02-02-2005, 11:48 AM Figured I would start one off, not absolutely positive this is where I will be in August, but probably about 97.6% sure. Most other schools have this thread but there wasnt one for GTown, so lets see who else will be matriculatin. :D
RaistlinMajere 02-02-2005, 12:14 PM Not sure yet. I'm currently in the competitive applicant pool. I've written a letter of interest, so there's really nothing more I can do at this point. Does anyone know if the Georgetown waitlist moves? And when it usually starts?
vhawk 02-02-2005, 01:28 PM Well, first year applicant so I dont know for sure. However, they are one of the schools(like BU and Drexel, etc...) that tend to accept a very large number of students compared to their class size, so I would assume there is certainly a lot of movement. Unfortunately, I dont think you'll be taking my spot, plan on holding it, but I wish you luck!

Me too. Raistlin, they said at the interview that by writing letters, many people get off the waitlist. I think you have a great chance. Good luck!
NeverGettingIn 02-02-2005, 03:51 PM I interview there next week...those who have already interviewed/been accepted -- have any advice/forewarnings?
Thanks.
vhawk 02-02-2005, 04:16 PM Advice, perhaps, but forewarnings certainly not. Really, this was my best interview, nothing to fear at all. Get used to the "fishbowl", which is where you sit at the beginning, middle and end of the day. Staff is very friendly and helpful(trust me, by accident I showed up 3 HOURS EARLY) and interview is low stress. Just come prepared to learn about the school and you will be fine, be calm and confident. Oh, and look forward to Ms. Sullivan, she gives a solid talk that will keep you awake after what can be a long day. Hope to see you in the fall!

i think they generally accept 350-400 for a class of ~170

I was accepted off the Gtown WL about a week ago. It was a few weeks after I sent it my letter of interest. Good luck.
VeggieGal 02-03-2005, 05:45 PM i have a question. i was supposed to interview at gtown next week, but am in the process of cancelling it. but, why is gtown ranked so low? i don't get it. it seems like a great school. i know that rankings aren't everything, but no matter how much i love dc and the school, i just don't feel like i could go there over southwestern, which is ranked much higher and is much cheaper. i just wanted to ask what people thought of this.
kbg12 02-03-2005, 07:36 PM veggiegal- I am in the same situation... I would love to go to the interview next week at G'town because DC is fabulous and G'town undergrad is, too, but it seems silly since I have been accepted to a higher ranked and more respected medical school. I guess the major drawbacks of G'town is its bad financial sitation and its jesuit beliefs leaking into their ideas and practices (ie no abortions)... My thoughts...It would be better for your career to go to Southwestern.
shawty ya'head 02-03-2005, 07:41 PM well it depends on what you're looking at
in terms of research, GTOWN is not funded as well as 'top' institutions...like southwestern.
however, they are very strong clinically. i just had my interview today and i talked in length with my interviewer about this. they match very very well. almost everyone last year got their 1st or 2nd choice. they place an incredible amount of ortho surgery, derm and neurosurgery residents.
in my eyes, if you have high hopes in terms of what you want to practice and you know you want to be a clinician, GTOWN is a solid institution.
i hope i get in, i thought my interview went pretty well. however, it seems competitive, 15-25 interviewees getting in out of every 100.
Skichic56 02-03-2005, 07:54 PM What I love about Gtown is that you do 3 acting internships (aka sub-i's at some schools) in medicine, surgery, and a specialty of your choice during 4th year. Each are a month long and you are given ~the responsibility of an intern. I am confident that this will really prepare me for residency, and I'm looking forward to it.

microman 02-19-2005, 10:53 PM I know I'll be heading to Georgetown in August. I can't wait! I love DC and I'm confident that Georgetown will be a great place to study medicine.
vhawk 02-20-2005, 10:39 PM Thats cool that you're excited, I am too. I love the DC area, and when I decided I wanted to be a doc and started this painful journey, my dream was to end up in DC. Hope to see you in the fall, and congrats.
patrickstarfish 02-21-2005, 12:26 AM I was accepted off the Gtown WL about a week ago. It was a few weeks after I sent it my letter of interest. Good luck.
How long after your interview were you waitlisted? Someone told me that if you're not accepted w/in 4 weeks you're waitlisted. Is that right? Cuz i want to get crackin onmy letter
dashawshot 02-21-2005, 11:26 AM I will most likely be at GTown this august, but I am still waiting out on a couple of schools. I loved it when I was there. Good luck to all interviewing.
skiracer90 02-21-2005, 12:03 PM Did you guys who got in all write a letter of interest?

I got my WL letter ~6 weeks after my interview. Even if they are going to accept you right away, I would think the letter probably won't hurt, right?
vhawk 02-21-2005, 02:57 PM Did you guys who got in all write a letter of interest?
I did not write one, but I had one all primed and ready to send off. I got accepted after the interview though, so I didnt have to. All I hear though is that its a really good idea to send one.

approximately how long after you interviewed did you hear back from them?
(i'm horribly impatient)
congrats on your acceptance.
kwc1979 02-23-2005, 03:14 PM For those of you who got into Georgetown straight away, how long did it take to get your acceptance from the time you interviewed? What did the envelope look like (i.e small or large)? I loved the school and HATE the waiting!
Thanks!
vhawk 02-23-2005, 03:28 PM I got my acceptance...well, it was a long time. At least 7-8 weeks. And everyone told me it was gonna be a big manilla envelope if it was good news. But it wasnt. It was a regular letter sized envelope. So dont freak out if you get a small one. Good luck.
microman 02-24-2005, 06:20 PM Does G-town have a second-look weekend, or was one look supposed to be enough?
demalo 02-27-2005, 09:04 PM do any of you have the match list? I have been looking for it on SDN but cannot find a valid link or copy. I know it is pretty incredible ( I saw the last few match lists when I interviewed) but one of my friends wanted to see it.
vhawk 04-13-2005, 10:49 AM Ok, now that its getting closer to final decision time and most people are close to determining their final destination....bump.
microman 04-13-2005, 11:28 AM for those of you who are going to attend G-town, are you going to bring your cars or will you rely on walking/public transportation?
shawty ya'head 04-13-2005, 12:00 PM i'm thinking about bringing a car down microman.
one of my good friends is a 1st year there and he has a car and he says it comes in pretty handy.
cappymo 04-13-2005, 02:53 PM Hey guys--
I may be heading there as well.... that is if I can ever get over the huge price and let go of my state school! Anyways, I am just curious of you impressions of the school? Did you find the environment to be more stressful than other schools, or competitive for that matter? I got mixed signals....
Hoya11 04-13-2005, 03:16 PM Im an MS1 at GTown let me give you my .02
I have a best friend in a state school in NY and I am under the impression his school is MUCH more chill and easier on their students and more conducive to actual learning. He tells me that you dont get in any academic trouble unless you FAIL tests, and very few fail tests. From visiting his school i get the sense taht this is all true. GTown is very different from a nice comfortable state school like this.
Overall, it operates like a more competitive, generally harder school, looking to match students into top residencies.
Grades are H/HP/P/(LP)
All tests are multiple choice. (ie TOTAL board preparation)
LP= Low pass = bottom 10% of the class, doesnt show up on real transcript.
It is an internal grade with internal consequences (5 = repeat legend has it)
ON the other end of the spectrum, there are people here who shoot for the H or HP every time (top 30% HP, top 10% H).
So this makes it more difficult (in my opinion) for a student who is looking to just stay with the pack. SInce, say 50% are shooting for the top 30%, those who dont get the honors or HP leave some pretty high grades in the Pass range. All trickling down to, very high cut offs for academic trouble. Meaning that, in some classes below 70 is a LP. 10% of the people will get a 70 or less (they set up the tests like this) and end up with a low pass after doing hard work and pretty much mastering the information. In summary, you could get into academic trouble more easily here, (ie called into deans office or LPs or just plain stress) where if you just took the test at another shcool, you would probably be in the middle of the pack and in no trouble at all. In other words, they are hard core about grades.
ALso, they put a lot of courses at real inconvenient times, like youll have a week with MWF tests. I mean I think this is just unneccessary and stressful, but that is GTown, they make you pay for that name. And just so This doesnt seem like a hate thread of my schoool let me tell you the benefits of such a competitive/ hard core system.
Now, that I am almost out of year 1, I am a very disciplined student and feel like I never would have made this transition if I was not forced by the conditions at Gtown. Also, I am CONFIDENT in my future beyond gtown. I feel like as long as I am in the middle of my class, which now is easy to do, I can choose almost anything I want to go into, save the most extreme specitalties. our match list is RIDICULOUS, cuz our students are just reemed all four years in preparation for the boards, and we use our name to swing things in our favor.
peace all hope this helped some
cappymo 04-13-2005, 03:53 PM Overall, it operates like a more competitive, generally harder school, looking to match students into top residencies.
Knowing what you know now, would you choose it again? This is sort of the consensus of what I have gathered from people at Gtown-- but I dont know how to weigh this information. Is a name worth personal sanity? Does your friend at the state school feel his/her education is really preparing them as yours is for you??
I am very intrigued to hear your thoughts, thanks for responding.
Hoya11 04-13-2005, 06:03 PM I am very happy with my choice.
The school runs smoothly, note service is great, I would get all the notes. Classes are hard at first if you have not had this before. But I know they prepare you for the boards and second year. Avg Board score here is around 220. My friend at the other school said he definitely now wishes he had prep like Gtown for the boards, since he is a second year and they are coming up soon. So, its just good to know that, you are at a school where if you just keep up and stay with the pack, you will have essentially all doors open to you at the end. You basically just have to get through. You dont have to worry about, will I beat him or her on the boards or in classes to get into surgery, like from other schools possibly.
And that is what matters for me, I do not want to be working hard to end up as an FP in kansas. I know that I want to be a specialist, and Gtown is geared right towards that. Plus you are in an awesome city. AND everyone pans Gtown about the classes are in a basement. Semi-true, but its more like the bottom of a hospital, and I honestly think its cool to be that close, you have courses that take u inside the hospital to see patients, all while being right next to school.

shmerndawg 04-15-2005, 10:59 AM Hey guys,
So I may be with y'all come August as well, all depending on how my other wait lists pan out. Do any of you guys have any idea of logistics? I'm looking towards you MS1's. I know at other schools they've said to me to come with $1500 or so dollars to get myself established in an apartment and whatnot because it takes some time for the financial aid to be disbursed. What is the case for Georgetown? Where do med students typically live? It sounds like, given the grading system/match list etc..that Georgetown is very competative. But how often/what do you guys do you guys all do for fun? I've always been about balance, work hard and play hard. So now that we've heard about the work some...could we be enlightened with what we might do once we slam those books shut?
Uegis 04-15-2005, 11:23 AM For those accepted or waitlisted, today is the FINAL day to submit the financial aid application. I didn't finish mine so I will be withdrawing from the waitlist. Congrats on all those accepted and good luck to those waitlisted.

Good luck RaaMD. Hopefully you'll get off the waitlist in no time.

it took them almost 8 weeks to accept me (but this was way back in oct/nov)...
i am still holding on to my acceptance, but probably only for another week or two. i am currently doing research at georgetown medical center, so i feel like i've gotten to know the campus pretty well. i'm sure i could be happy here, but i'm 99.9% sure i'm going to university of maryland instead...
so there should be a spot opening up for somebody very soon! g-town seems like it produces really competent doctors, so congrats to you guys and good luck there next year :)

WHAT?!?! does this mean filling out the FAFSA? or are there other specific Gtown forms to fill out? I cannot attend without financial aid. This has me stressed now....

They need your FAFSA, but you also have to go to their website, click on financial aid and go to the forms section I think. There are several forms you need to fill out and send in (stafford loan applications and G-town institutional aid application). Hope this helps.

I would say work hard / play hard describes gtown well for me anyway. It is very boom and bust, you constantly take tests, celebrate afterwards for a week or two by doing absolutely nothing, studying for the next test, celebrating, on and on. I would say 50% of people go to class, lots of people travel and go out on weekends. 2 weekends per month i would say you typically have totally free, 3 weekends in a good month but you usually dont go that long without a test. But I mean i have a ton of free time, on weekdays if you do not go to class you just do whatever you want. If you dont go to class, you are totally free to do whatever you want all day, every day, unless its test time when you are totally swamped. There are weekly afternoon meetings you ahve to go to also, about 2 afternoons a week you spend doing something random for some insignificant class or labs.
Georgetown is THE area in DC in my opinion. At night, everyone basically comes to you if you live in the area. There are tons of bars and tons of kids out all the time. You take cabs or walk everywhere so driving isnt an issue. There are cool concerts all over the place and everyone is so into the new baseball team but i am not too into it for some reason. If you dont live in the area though, i could see it being pretty boring, especially if you live in arlington or someplace where you would have to drive to gtown to go out. But if you are married or want to be isolated its cheaper than Gtown. 1500? that is way low to move into gtown.
Rent, if you shared a place in a big house (ie at the cheapest possible), is like 800. Your own place, 1100. So when you show up to rent it you need 1100 1st month rent 1100 security deposit and money for furniture. So probably like 3000 should do it. Living in georgetown is a luxury, it is expensive but cool. Lots of people live other places, but i like the atmosphere. It could get to people who do not like city hub-ub. I have only left the Gtown area a few times to go out. I went to see a wizards game, a concert, and to adams morgan ( a cool but overrated bar area of dc) . Oh yeah there is the national zoo close by which is free all the time and kind of cool. PLus you can go downtown to the holocaust museum and all the other cool DC stuff. Seriously there is SO much to do if you want, or you can do nothing and its still just a nice place to live.
its also convenient to live near school. Parking is a NIGHTMARE, so walking is a good option, or biking. Lots of people who save money living far away drive in and end up wasting so much time sitting through classes that are a waste of time, just because it doesnt make sense for them to leave. WHere is you lived close you could leave and come back to the important lectures.
hope this helps gotta run

Thanks for the help. But I clearly missed the deadline -- do we think that there is any way that they would still consider my application if I FedEx it tomorrow?
vhawk 04-18-2005, 10:39 AM Couple of things...
About the FinAid- The deadline is to be considered for GTown scholarships and institutional aid, so you can still receive federal aid if you dont meet it. However, this kinda sucks, since there is a cap on the aid you receive and the interest rates can sometimes be high, and if you need additional aid its gonna come from private loans with REALLY bad interest rates, from what I hear. Basically, I might have missed the deadline as well, or just barely met it, but you will still be able to scroune up money. Also, its only for the first year, yer gonna have to apply each year again anyhow, so you can try to make it up later.
For Hoya- Man, I got like a thousand questions for you. Would you mind if I PMed you, specifically about housing and stuff like that? The only part that keeps me from being totally pumped about moving into DC is finding housing and PAYING for housing. Thanks.
nicole20 04-18-2005, 11:31 PM Approximately how long did it take you guys to get accepted from the competitive app pool? Did you do anything special besides writing the letter?

3. smells good
4. cooks a lot of delicious foods
5. gym buff
6. love bball
7. funny
microman 04-21-2005, 04:06 PM Yeah, I'm worried about finding a cheap place to live. I'd love to split the rent with someone, preferably another med. student. I have to wait a bit before I can commit, but I'm interested!
cappymo 04-21-2005, 06:09 PM What are your feelings about housing when you are still waiting on a waitlist for a different school. I dont want to commit to a lease before I hear from the waitlist place, yet I dont want to get totally screwed with housing in DC since its bad enough! Any advice?
medstylee 04-21-2005, 06:31 PM i'd just wait a little longer, at least, if i were you. as you know, housing in dc is mega expensive so, it'd suck to put down a large security deposit and then lose it if things do work out at the other school. dc is a really transient area, so there will always be some place you can find last minute. i'm a student in the smp program and i waited until the last minute last year for my waitlists and i still ended up with a really great place right near campus. anyway, that's just my advice. best of luck. georgetown's a really great school.

how did you find a really great place last minute? and does the admissions office really help you find roommates?
shawty, I don't want to commit to anything just yet, but I'll definitely be in the market for a house/apt and roommates for mid-july (I'm trying to avoid paying double rent as best I can). once i finish this f'n thesis, I plan on aggressively pursuing housing.

judging from last year's schedule on the website, there probably is lab that week. i am almost positive that you would be able to switch lab for that week if you are assigned to the lab section that meets that day, though. i am not 100% sure how gross lab is divided up, but neuro lab this term, for instance, meets tues and thurs - you go to one or the other, not both. (i'm in the smp at gtown right now). it may be different for gross, but i wouldn't worry about it - they'll help you work it out, since you have a good reason. :)

Have any good tips for those of us trying to find housing in DC? e.g., which neighborhoods in DC should be avoided, good resources for finding a residence, etc?
See you all in the fall~
Housing is gonna be expensive everywhere in DC. I lived in a basement in Foxhall this year. It was real close to campus, real big, but real expensive (1200). Some of my friends rented a house in Burleith. They paid about 600 each, but the place was worse than my old frat.
One thing to consider is the GUTS bus (http://otm.georgetown.edu/guts/index.cfm) routinely stops in Dupont Circle and Rosslyn (VA), so you can live in those areas and not have to worry about the commute. Also, from either of these places, you'll have easy metro access, which is a big plus. Dupont has all the bars/clubs/restaurants and supposedly Rosslyn gets pretty dead at night. I don't even know where I'm gonna live next year, so I'm not the best resource, but I'm hoping to find a place in Rosslyn.
Check for housing on craigslist and the Gtown housing listings: http://och.georgetown.edu/. The medschool also has that housing lisiting thing, but I haven't signed up for it yet.
bc003 06-03-2005, 06:10 AM hey, i'm an m'08 at gtown now...about gross lab, you'll probably have it on friday...there's no real way to make it up as the whole class has lab at the same time mon, wed, and fri and you once moday rolls around you've moved on to the next lab. however, the videos are online and you could go in on your own or with your lab partners whenever you have a free moment and check up on what was done in lab that day. it really shouldn't be too bad. plus, we started with the back this year which was pretty straight forward.
good luck and welcome to gtown :o)
Does anybody know the daily schedule for the first semester. I'm supposed to be in my sister's wedding in California on August 19th (first friday of the school year). I'm worried about missing anatomy lab!
ps. I can't wait to go rafting on Aug. 8th!!

There are lots of places that put signs up in the windows, but may not be listed elsewhere. When I moved down here a few years ago, I didn't make too much progress online, but found a bunch of places when I came down. It's best to see the places, since some can be pretty run-down, as batchild mentioned. The Georgetown housing site can be helpful, though it's not always updated. Good luck! Looks like I'll most likely be in the class of 2009 too. Look forward to meeting all of you! :)
I'm in a house now, but when I first moved here, rented from Ed Emes. He has a bunch of properties and is one name you can look for. He was a bit strict, since I was living in the same house he and his wife live in, but overall a great landlord. I have seen posts elsewhere of people having problems with him, but I'm not sure exactly what they were. Mostly, I'd say he might have more rules than most and really stick to them, but is attentive and nice as long as you don't do anything outrageous.
mf1121 06-15-2005, 10:07 PM just recently got accepted off the waitlist. i loved the school after interviewing, and i'm almost positive i'll be joining the class of '09. but i am still considering trying to defer for a year. does anyone have any thoughts on this? any second years wish they'd taken a year off before Gtown?
CocoMD 06-16-2005, 08:44 AM i just found this yesterday, so maybe some other people haven't seen it yet either... on the orientation page, they set up a discussion forum. there are pages for each class, all the courses, housing, etc.

My apt was on Volta Pl. I still have it until the end of July I guess. Foxhall is nice and quiet. I guess it's pretty safe, if that's a concern. It's also a really short walk to school.
foxeeb1221 06-20-2005, 11:08 AM So, I have been accepted to Georgetown but am on the waiting list for a school that I may want to go to. It is mid June and I still do not know what to do about housing. It seems that good housing in DC is pretty scarce. Do you all have your housing already? How much longer should I wait to secure housing?
themimi 06-20-2005, 10:19 PM Hey all! Congrats to all those accepted, whether to Gtown or not! I spent this past year at Georgetown as a GEMS student (as postbac program at the med school - i'm in the brochure off of the main gtown med webpage...haha!!) and am so excited to be a 1st year in a little over a month! See y'all on August 9th!
Peaches, just to answer your question, I haven't gotten a fin aid package yet, either. Called the office today to ask about it but to no avail. Will call back again tomorrow and will let you know if i hear anything.
Peace out..
Just Applied 06-22-2005, 10:25 AM Any new word out there? I was told to wait patiently by Mrs. Sullivan. She said that they accept people in batches and there is not too much more I can do. I have sent in about 4 letters and now am just praying for the best. Good luck to everyone else waiting! :luck: :luck:
peaches09 06-22-2005, 11:53 AM Did anyone get an email message this morning stating that you were subscribed to the GTown Med09 listserv, but 10 minutes later received another message saying you were unsubscribed?

sarma81 06-24-2005, 04:20 PM To anyone looking for housing near GU, I'm vacating my room in the next few days.
I'm looking for someone to take over my lease which starts from July 1st to May 2006. Rent is $620/month.
The room is small, but it has a closet and it's furnished with a bed, a dresser, a desk and a chair. All utilities are included in the rent except the high speed internet, which is about $15/month for one person.
You will be sharing the bathroom with a girl on the same floor.
The house is around the glover park area. It has AC, dishwasher, washer and dryer in the basement and you can use them for free
It's about 10 mins walk to GU hospital and it's close to shops, like whole foods, blockbuster, starbucks and etc. on Wisconsin Ave.
The landlord is looking for someone mature and responsible. No smoking No pets. Grad/med student or person with a stable job is preferred.
If interested, please email me at sarma81@hotmail.com.

My place is very near there, on 44th and P. It seems like a really nice, safe neighborhood, and only a very short walk to campus. Not sure how many other places there are around there, but check out the washingtonpost.com classifieds, as well as just drive around looking for signs. Thats what we did, and we really like our place.
And I will be the redheaded one at orientation (I assume I will be the only one, I think they have semi-strict policies on allowing redheads to become doctors) Looking forward to meeting all of you.

Thanks for all your help. It seems like there isn't too much more available in the area near Georgetown. Im going to head down there july 10 and stay there the week in hopes to find a place. I am going to the med school first and see if they can help me out there too. Plus it would be better if I were down there myself to see these places.
Just Applied 07-04-2005, 08:26 PM Not too many active Georgetown SDNers I guess. Anybody out there? Helloooooooooooooo? :)
shawty ya'head 07-05-2005, 08:46 AM yeah man - this thread is kinda slow.
whats up though? Congrats on G'town! See you in a month.
Just Applied 07-05-2005, 10:54 AM Chillin bro, definitely can't wait to hit up DC. You find a place to live yet?
shawty ya'head 07-05-2005, 10:39 PM nah i haven't yet man. i've come really really close but the owner of this awsome house that we were close to signing decided to give it to a group of girls (i'm thinking because girls are a lot cleaner).
i've been working on the housing situation - hopefully more things open up as august approaches and summer sessions at g'town come to a close.
what about yourself?

I haven't even begun to look. I am heading down to DC this sunday and staying there for the week in hopes to find a place to live. I think we still have enough time. DC does have a lot of housing; we just need to know where to look.
qtpie055 07-14-2005, 12:46 PM hey you guys!
well, i won't be joining Gtown this fall...I will be entering the Fall of 2007 as the Class of 2011. I attend Gtown undergrad and heard earlier this month that I was accepted under the Early Assurance program. YAY!!! I will be spending next year abroad in Oxford, England instead.
Congrats to all. Good luck!!

Huh? How'd you swing that!? What's the early assurance program and why the heck didn't I know we could go to England!?!

Hey Emster,
Gtown Undergrad and Med School had a program in which premed students can apply @ the end of their sophomore year for early assurance to the medical school. This allows students to pursue other interests that wouldn't be possible on the regular premed route. Many study abroad, partake in volunteer activities, concentrate on research, study a double major. It's not for everyone..but it really allows me to experience a lot more during my undergrad. I love the Georgetown area!
peaches09 07-19-2005, 02:28 PM Has anyone contacted the Admissions Office to check if all your official transcripts have been received?
Just Applied 07-19-2005, 06:09 PM Has anyone contacted the Admissions Office to check if all your official transcripts have been received?
Yeah, I have. You need to call Mr. Ford (Dont' remember his first name). he will tell you if your transcript has been received. The admissions department will connect you straight to him.
GtownCobra 08-02-2005, 07:14 PM Yeah, I have. You need to call Mr. Ford (Dont' remember his first name). he will tell you if your transcript has been received. The admissions department will connect you straight to him.
Just remember, it is indeed MR. Ford. Haha, i'm a third year... i started off emailing Ford calling him Ms. Ford (for some reason, I thought Eugene was a girl's name? what a moron)... when I finally met him in person, it was extremely weird. He was like, "oh, so YOU'RE the one" :)
Good luck first years!
Just Applied 08-04-2005, 11:20 AM I just moved to Park Place in Arlington and was wondering if anybody can tell me how to walk to Gtown from there. I am very new to the area and don't know anyone.
GtownCobra 08-04-2005, 12:58 PM uh, to my knowledge, you can't walk to gtown from arlington, VA. That'd be a long walk, your best bet is to check out the public transportation options (bus, metro)... if you hop the metro to roslyn, you'll be able to take the GUTS shuttle bus that has stops throughout that little area (check www.georgetown.edu for the GUTS schedule)
Just Applied 08-13-2005, 03:58 PM How did orientation go for everybody?
vhawk 09-03-2005, 02:41 AM First off, picture is definitely needed. Also, would you be bringing friends? Something can be worked out...
