Not sure if htis is the right place for it, but I've had back pain for a while, and I went to my regular doc, who is a big believer in shall we say, non traditional routes, such as accupuncture and whatnot. I've tried accupuncture, that didn't work too well. She heard of OMM and thinks it might work for me, only she doesn't know how to do it, nor does she know of any docs in my area who practice OMM, so I was wondering if anybody knew of maybe a website where I can find a listitng of DO docs? I'd rather try OMM before taking pills for however long.

The Yellow Pages are a good place to start.

Yellow pages doesn't really wokr because they don't list if they use OMM or not, and a lot of the places are listed as offices without any doctors names.

Call NYCOM's OMM dept & see if they have a list of local docs that practice OMM.

I would suggest DocFind on www.aetna.com...

Just put in information for the search and look for PCP's with a D.O in your area...I've had good luck looking up docs in that system.

Actually in my local Yellow Pages it tells which docs use OMM.

The American Osteoapthic Association website, the American Academy of Osteopathy (AAO), or the AOASM to find a sports med doc. Depending on what you need, treatment-wise, the sports med doc might be able to help you. I just came back from their 2005 conference, and they almost all use manual medicine in their practices.
