It stands for "Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination®" for international pharmacy grads who want to come to the United States. I'm asking for a friend of mine from Egypt, who's interested in coming to the U.S. I'm a biochem major though. So, if you have any tips or information, I would greatly appreciate it.

I am sorry, i do not have any information about the subject but there is one tip i can give:

any time you want information related to international student, the safest way to gatter highly reliable information is to target 2 or 3 schools and write an email to their pharmacy school to ask them about it. They are your best sources.

From what I gathered from a coworker, it's like taking a second naplex with some english writing/grammar skills thrown in.

Basically I would prepare like I would for the NAPLEX and throw in some TOEFL prep too.

Of course take this with a grain of salt.

I'm planning to sit the FPGEE in June 08...as i've just been granted permission to sit in December 07...but that's too soon, as I've no idea how long it'll take to prepare!! So I'm planning to defer...
How long did you need to prepare?

And also...how much would you charge to share your username/password for the online course?

For those of you who have taken the exam, could someone please let me know if they sometimes use only a brand name in the exam, or if they always list the generic name beside a brand name?

I used the Manan Shroff FPGEE study materials especially the question and answer and also studied one chapter in Comprehensive Pharmacy Review (Organic Chemistry-for the structures) It really helped me. I am planning to take the exam this Dec 2008. The thing is, I am Pharmacist from the Philippines but i am here in New Zealand on a work status as a Pharmacy Assistant. My question is, if i am to apply to sit for FPGEE on Dec, do i need to go back to the Philippines which is my country of origin? Ive read the Application Bulletin and there was nothing said about it, so i am just assuming that it is ok to go from New Zealand straight to US for the FPGEE.

I hope you can enlighten me on this.

Hi, James. My wife is taking the exam next month. The only thing I can think of is that the admission ticket they mail to you has your address printed on it (in addition to your name, picture, etc.). Since you're living in New Zealand, I assume you have a stable address with something showing that you live there. I don't know if you need to show ID which matches the address on the admission ticket, but when my wife faxed the NABP about a change of address, they sent her a new admission ticket with the new address (which matches her driver license).

Also, you will need two forms of ID on the exam day.

Don't be disappointed if they do not accept your application for December... it may take a year to get all your papers in order (like, going through ECE, and so on).
