Is a bachelor's degree in Social Science a good degree to help me get into med school? I have seen that universities like a variety of degree in humanities and social sciences. If it isn't, what is a good degree to get to increase my chances? Thanks!

Med schools don't care what your major was, so long as you take the prereqs. You do not get any measurable benefit from being a social science major versus a bio major or vice versa. Not sure that this is really the right board for that question though...

Social Sciences are perfectly acceptable. According to the AAMC (http://www.aamc.org/data/facts/2004/mcatgpabymaj1.htm), they fare as well as everyone else.
