Hmmm... let's see... how 'bout the story of where you are headed and how you got to where you are now?.. In other words just tell your own story about your quest to become a doctor. Oh, and check your spelling and grammar. Believe it or not these things can bite you in the arse if you're not careful. :)

One of my attendings told me that few PS really help an applicant but a badly written one can and will definately hurt you. He also said it is really the writers story and they can write what they want to. So make it personal, avoid cliches unless they really are true, talk about why you want to be a whatever. Then for programs you like have the last paragraph summarize the reason why you want to go to that program and then have a generic summary for programs you are using as backups. ERAS will let you specify which PS goes to which program.
