View Full Version : Q's about IM Interview Scheduling

I was hoping some of you interns or seniors out there could answer some questions for me.

1) Are IM interviews usually on weekends or weekdays? I have a buddy applying to surgery and they apparently have theirs on fri/sat, just wondering if that was the case with IM as well

2) I wanted to do an away rotation across town in november that would take me to Dec 3rd. I was wondering if it is difficult to schedule all interviews in December and January or should I really consider not doing a rotation in November. Also, do interviews occur during christmas break.

3) If I do the away rotation, based on your experiences, does it screw me at that program if I need to leave for interview (not a sub-i but on a consult service or something like that)

Any input would be appreciated
Thanks

1) They are pretty much scattered throughout the week. At the program's convenience.

2) Not too tough to schedule if you have two months like that. Dec may get tight. Just apply and schedule early. Most prorams do not have interviews during Christmas break.

3) no idea

Agree with above, I did a visiting rotation in November and then most of my interviews in December -- five-- and then two more in January.
