I am an FMG interested in applying to internal medicine this year, I have two months of US clinical experience ( I did emergency medicine and surgery electives) but my LORS all come from Emergency medicine professors who have supervised me first hand ; will these LORS be acceptable for internal medicine? in otehr words are three good LORS from US EM physicans who know me better than LORS from a US inetrnist I have not worked with or a foreign internist?

Are IM PDs particular about having letters from internists as in genral surgery for example?

Most programs expect that at least one of your LORs come from an internist, or a subspecialist in one of the IM specialties. In addition, you are expected to submit a chair letter from IM -- I don't know how that works with foreign grad applicants, but US applicants typically have the chair of their school's IM department or the chair's representative write a letter of support.

It would probably be better if you supply at least one letter from an internist from the country you trained in.
