This is a family member of mine, is this person finished as far as medical school goes? This person has near completed all of their rotations in the UK, is there any way they can still take the exam again? What would you recommend they do next?

I was under the impression that FMGs had no limitation on the number of times they sat for the exam....an FMG told me that himself..

I think it depends on the state in which he wants to practice...my state has a limit of 3 times, but I have heard other states do not have a limit.

I thought it was similar to the MCAT where if you fail >3 times, you have to wait a significant number of years (I think 7yrs) before you can attempt the test again.... I could be wrong.

you cant fail the mcat, you can do bad, but not fail. The MCAT lets you take it 3 times, for the fourth you have to asked for a special permit, you have to write a letter explaining why you wanna take it again.

In my school, they let you take the usmle 3 times, the fourth time you have, again, to ask for a special permit to take it again, i think 4 times is the max.
