Dr. Pedo 06-09-2005, 10:05 PM can't get any safer than Iowa City, Iowa. :D Tough to get in----but so worth the chance ;) shopaholic 06-09-2005, 10:40 PM OHSU. Portland Oregon was voted best place to live a couple of years back. unlvdmd 06-09-2005, 11:13 PM Portland would be fun! Does it rain AS MUCH there as some of the other "coast" places? I heard not. drhobie7 06-10-2005, 12:04 AM Which cities offering pediatric residencies are the best to raise a family (low crime, housing etc.) Thanks! Detroit would be my first choice. Ahh, no just kidding. Portland is a good family place. Not so good for the single fellow or feline. Is this Chalise? kdsdds 06-10-2005, 06:33 PM Does anyone know anything about the new pedo program in Oregon? Haven't been able to find much yet....also, is Portland really that bad if you are single? shopaholic 06-10-2005, 06:56 PM Does anyone know anything about the new pedo program in Oregon? Haven't been able to find much yet....also, is Portland really that bad if you are single? The new clinic opens on July 1st. It's on the ground floor with the rest of the grad programs and they take 4 residents. They're trying to get on the match list this year. Last year they had 23 applications. Portland is really not that bad. The downtown scene is pretty happening on the weekends and the school always throws mixers with the meds, pharms, nurses, and law school. Every time I go out, there seems to be a ton of pretty girls and only a few decent guys. So I guess it's a better situation if you're a guy. As for the weather...it's pretty mild. It drizzles a lot, but the summers make up for it. lnn2 06-10-2005, 07:20 PM Austin-San Antonio, Texas Is this Chalise? Probably not, sounds like a porn star's name! :D drhobie7 06-11-2005, 03:30 PM ah, no Chalise is not a porn star. She's my classmate and friend. whburg 06-12-2005, 12:12 AM University of Colorado, also had a Peds program. And Denver is the best city in my mind. Mountains in sight and perfect weather year round. Definitely check it out...lots of safe neighborhoods and a great place to grow up 2thgirl 06-13-2005, 03:54 AM Thanks for all the replies, and no, I am not Chalise. |
