Heres the dilemma. I just talked to some people and they highly recommended doing an out rotation at this place I have been keeping my eye on for some time. the problem is I already set up a couple out rotations at other places. So heres my question, is doing an "audition" out rotation in November thru December to late? When is the optimal time to do audition rotations? Ive got one time slot from like nov 15th thru decmebr 15th that I can do an out rotation, but I wonder if that is too late? Please anyone, any thoughts?

That is pretty late...presuming you are using the audition rotation to get a LOR for residency. The optimal time for these rotations is summer-October generally.

It depends on what you want from the rotation. If you want a letter, then Kimberli is right that its too late in November. On the other hand, if you already have enough letters, you could rotate there and use it as a pure audition rotation in which you show them your best efforts in hopes to impress and feel out the program (and your potential happiness there) at the same time.
