I have spoken with Quinn some about this but am interested to hear some other solutions/perspectives.
For those doing EM who want to "Res 42" your intern year... how are you meeting the "continuity clinic" or "FP" month rotation requirement without burning an elective to fufill this useless requirement?
Thanks for any input.
Res 42 is for DO docs that do not pursue osteopathic residencies. There are a few states that require DO's to do osteopathic rotating internships in order to practice. The AOA passed legislature that will allow non-osteopathic residency trained docs to practice in these states if certain requirements are met.
I am in this situation and I too would like to know what others have done in the past to satisfy the clinic requirement. How hard is it to satisfy the requirements?
Thanks
GiJoe

Yes it does.
Someone should just sue the AOA and the Osteopathic Medical Board of one of the 5 states for conspiracy to limit professional practice and artifically inflate the value of AOA GME through coercion and monopolistic practice.
