I'm just curious. We paid $4000 total for my partner to have lasik. The physician is an associate professor of the local medical school. The procedure was done at a TLC center (a chain I believe). How much of that goes to the doctor, or as faculty is he paid by salary?

I don't know, but remember that each laser machine probably costs 1 million dollars, and they would have dozens of other little machines to do all the pre-op testing costing upwards of $50 000. The technology is very expensive. He wouldn't get anywhere near the whole amount.
