Hi everyone, I was just wondering if there any key tips or thing that people found useful when they started studing for the OAT. I bought all my books (MCAT books) already and have started to go through it slowly. I am planning to write the last written OAT and if worst comes to worse write the computer one after if I need to. But all in all are there any important steps to take before studing or any secrets to getting it all in there and making it stick. I know its a little early but I just wanna go over this stuff now and then go hardcore come closer to OAT date. Any input would be great. Thanks in advance!

I'd say study like a hour to two hours every day consistantly for a month or two before the test and do a lot of practice problems, as many as you can get your hands on. Time yourself while you're doing the practice so you can better pace yourself when the real test rolls around. Goodluck. I got a 320 twice and honestly didn't spend more than a couple of hours studying for the test so I think if you do what I mentioned above you're gonna get a killer score.

odstudent is crazy.... don't believe him. The night before the test you should drink a couple of beer and watch some TV to relax yourself. I remember taking my OAT the first time in san antonio,tx. That night me and my girlfriend went to the riverwalk and drank all night until around 2 am. I couldn't sleep till like 3 or 4 because I was nervous about the test. Ended up with 320.

Did anyone use the Princeton Review MCAT book to study for the OAT? I was planning on doing this since I can't seem to get my hands on an OAT book. If I did this, do you think that I would be prepared for the QR and verbal comprehension sections on the OAT, seeing as they are ot really part of the MCAT.
Thanks

I actually think that using an SAT review for the QR might be helpful. I read a book and they actually said that the QR for the OATS and SATS are quite similar. I'm pretty sure you can get your hands on a review book at a used book store.
For the Reading comprehension, I would say you should just read some scientific articles for practice. Check out the scientific america website and just read some articles.
