I promise not to make a habit of posting non-ophtho related questions, but for all of you computer savy folk:

My hard drive crashed a week ago. The "geek squad" (yes, that is their name) picked up my computer, told me my hard drive was dead and installed a new one. They informed me that they were unable to recover any info off of my old hard drive, but told me there are companies out there that specialize in this. I looked into a few and they are $$$$ and there are no guarantees. Wondering if anyone else has ever used such a company? There is nothing that I absolutely can't live without, but it would be nice to have some digital pictures from our vacations and some data that I have been analyzing.
