View Full Version : Which is correct: OMS or OMFS? unlvdmd 07-23-2005, 04:52 PM This may be getting too technical, but isn't the correct abbreviation OMS since maxillofacial is one word? Do current residents think people that use OMFS are idiots? Or are both used equally in your field? Just wondering for future refrence... toofache32 07-23-2005, 06:59 PM It's the same thing. I learned OMS at the program affiliated with my dental school, but the ER and other departments call us OMFS where I am doing my residency for some reason.
