I didn't know if anyone knew the name(s) of a decent, cheap, hotel/motel that is close (preferably walking distance) to the Houston Step 2CS test center?

I stayed at the Amerisuites at Ronan Park Place, which is about 1 mile from the testing center. They have a shuttle which leaves in the morning about 30 minutes before the exam day is scheduled to begin, and you can call them to come pick you up once the exam is over (make sure you have their phone number). It was $89/night, which isn't super cheap, but it's pocket change compared to the grand you've already sunk into the CS. Plus, if you're close enough to drive to Houston (under 10 hours), you can use the flight money to pay for the hotel and still end up saving money. The hotel is nice, clean, and very quiet (there weren't many folks there when I stayed). Good luck
