View Full Version : guys neeed ur advice amma777 08-19-2005, 05:07 PM ? isd121 08-19-2005, 05:26 PM Your score is fine except PAT. because your AA=20 and TS=21...i think you are ok...but make sure. I think you should call all the schools where you are applying. If they want more on PAT then rewrite it. 786mine 08-19-2005, 05:48 PM you scored lower on QC and the RC. your PAT score is not good, I will be honest. You need to get that up. If you had a 17 both times that is a diff story but 15 both times, that is very bad. good luck. isd121 08-19-2005, 06:21 PM Hi 786mine, Do they look at the best DAT score or recent DAT score  you scored lower on QC and the RC. your PAT score is not good, I will be honest. You need to get that up. If you had a 17 both times that is a diff story but 15 both times, that is very bad. good luck. joonkimdds 08-19-2005, 07:21 PM Hi 786mine, Do they look at the best DAT score or recent DAT score  They may not look at the recent one, because they r too lazy to check again. Some people already got rejected because the schools they applied didn't look at their 2nd or better score due to their laziness. amma777 08-19-2005, 07:33 PM i improved on my QC and reading compresion i didnt go down on the fist one i got 16 on QR and 17 on RC but today i got 18 on BOth of them , so you think i am regected , ... what ever my dreaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam down in the ... whateverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr  i studied so hard .:( i have a good GPA and i worked for a dentsit for 2 years:( :( ieven if i wantto take it again it will be end of november and thats tooooooooooo late :(i have already sent my applications and school had recived it Flipper405 08-19-2005, 07:54 PM i improved on my QC and reading compresion i didnt go down on the fist one i got 16 on QR and 17 on RC but today i got 18 on BOth of them , so you think i am regected , ... what ever my dreaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam down in the ... whateverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr  i studied so hard .:( i have a good GPA and i worked for a dentsit for 2 years:( :( ieven if i wantto take it again it will be end of november and thats tooooooooooo late :(i have already sent my applications and school had recived it If you have a good GPA, you should be OK, I think. joonkimdds 08-19-2005, 08:13 PM If you have a good GPA, you should be OK, I think. yeah...with ur 3.8 or higher GPA, u will have a chance. amma777 08-20-2005, 07:12 PM guys no more thing to say, is it so badd tthat you guys are speech less:( i guss it is , i tried to sleep last night i couldnt it sucks when you see ur dream flying away from u..:( goood luck to u all and thanks for replys RockstarDMD 08-20-2005, 09:04 PM guys no more thing to say, is it so badd tthat you guys are speech less:( i guss it is , i tried to sleep last night i couldnt it sucks when you see ur dream flying away from u..:( goood luck to u all and thanks for replys I would not be so dishearted. Those are good scores you should be proud of them. So the PAT is low, so what, at least it is not below 15. I think you have a shot at interviews and acceptances. Don't let any negativity from yourself or other's posts discourage your dream. GOOD LUCK! :D brittnylee 08-21-2005, 02:38 AM I agree with Rockstar - your scores are excellent, you have experience and a great GPA - worse comes to worse, you'll have to take it again, but I don't think this will hold you back or be the case... maybe play up your hands on experience in the dental field to compensate for your PAT scores, or have the dentist write a recommendation letter focusing on your abilities in the dental field. I wish you luck!! :) Farnaz 08-23-2005, 01:03 AM You should be ok. Don't much worry about your science scores going down b/c they know that it is based on a log scale and missing one question would make a big difference. Good that you brought your QR and RC scores up. and good that you took it again and did your best. If you hadn't taken it again, you would have always regreted it. I think they look at both DAT scores (i am not sure) About your PAT: Get a recommendation letter that emphasizes on your hand-eye coordination. Did you do some work for the dentists, so they can comment on your skills? Also, if you see a manual dexterity question on the secondaries, emphasize on your skills there (don't lie though). These would help compensating for the low score. In the interview, be prepared to talk about your low PAT and have good excuses at hand ( i don't know what excuses, may be ask a few people about it). I think you are in a good shape to get interviews. Good luck! Generallee 08-23-2005, 02:11 AM I would not be so dishearted. Those are good scores you should be proud of them. GOOD LUCK! :D I agree with Rockstar as well.... You should have NOTHING to worry about! As long as your GPA's are decent. Your scores are great... You'll be fine with those scores, even with the 15 on PAT. afrek 09-21-2005, 12:16 PM The worst thing you can do is get down on yourself. Believe me, it's coming from plenty of experience. If you decide to, you CAN re-take the DAT for this application cycle, just do it in December and notify the schools when you do. Your dreams are certainly NOT down the tube, you still have a shot of getting in this year. In the worse case, you don't...and you reapply next year. If you really want it, perservere and you will get in. |
