View Full Version : Test AN anyone? RB69 08-21-2005, 12:24 PM n/a Krazed_Medic 08-21-2005, 06:15 PM hey, I had this form as well. I think the test as a whole was pretty tough. I feel I did fairly well on the PS. I can't judge on the VR. The BS was hard for me as I haven't had genetics yet, and I am one of the very few that wished they would have had more OChem than they had on the test. I'm a chem major, so, that would be why. I hated the writing section, but I think I did alright on it. Hope there is a goooooooood curve! haha plastick 08-22-2005, 12:43 PM Sup, thought I'd add my feelings. Overall, the test seemed to just concentrate on specific topics which I didn't like. PS: I just remember a lot of stuff on titrations, oxidation/reduction, and atomic energy levels. The good part was the passages weren't that long. There was a lot of theory and barely any calculations. VR: This section sucked because the difficulty increased steadily. I was feeling good about the first three passages, but then the Henry James, Russia/Kerensky, and blame passages really got to me. There were a lot of questions where I couldn't decide between two answer choices. BS: Barely any OChem. The physiology was superficial too. Just seemed to focus on bacteria, genetics, and molecular bio. Then there were some really detailed things I had never covered. OK, so this is my first time writing the MCAT and boy was it a rough one. 1. PS: Harder than anything I've done in the AAMC and PR tests. Too much chemistry and too little physics. Even the physics was kind of messed up with the questions on light spectra, weird elecron energy/voltage questions, and a strange momentum passage (car accident) that really didn't require all that much information from the passage. Chemistry was pretty much titrations, titrations, and titrations. And that's the only thing I really didn't study that much. 2. VR: Killer. I actually ranked the passages before starting, but found out halfway in between that one of the passages I had ranked as 'do now' should have been ranked as the 'killer' passage. Anyhow, I really dunno how this one went. Contentwise, I had some passage on Napolean/Russia, "New Journalism", Egyptian writings, somthing on people blaming each other, and some BS on the T-rex, which I totally hated. 3. WS: I believe everybody more or less had the same prompts. Wasn't that bad. 4. BS: Impossible. Totally not what I expected. No endocrine system. No physiology. No Reproductive stuff. Nothing that I really focussed on in my studying. I really had a LOT of difficulty in this section, and found it to be the hardest of all. Only one organic passage (which I was really happy about), but the celebrations ended as I slowly began to discover the immense amound of genetics/bacteriology (which I really suck at) being tested. I dunno what I'll get. Ah well, at least it's done for now. RB |
