Hi there everyone. I'm currently a first
year student at OUCOM in Athens, Ohio and
am on the 4 year Navy HPSP scholarship...
I also received the 4 year Army HPSP but
turned it down, so if you have any questions
about either of the processes or about
OUCOM, drop me a line at wvh@tso.cin.ix.net.
Talk to you soon!

Cheers,

Warren Hsu

HI,
I know a little about the Navy HSPS and am in the process of applying. How competitive is it? Have you already done OIS? If so how was it?

Hi there, Carrie...I haven't attended OIS
yet, so I'm afraid I can't help you on that
one, but I heard it's actually pretty fun...
one piece of advice given to me, though, is
that you try to get into some sort of shape
(running, sit-ups, pushups, etc) before
going so that you'll have a better time http://www.medstudents.net/bbs/smile.gif.

As far as the process, it's a long one,
and the most important thing is to start
as early as possible...the earlier you have
all of your paperwork and recommendations in,
the better chance you have of securing one
of the slots they have for 4 year
scholarships...also, try to get your military
physical finished as soon as possible, which
BTW was probably the worst and most tedious
part of the process (it literally took all
day to do). But the scholarship is a great
opportunity, and I'd encourage you to apply
for it if you already haven't. If you
have any more questions, email me at
