Ok, it feels way to early to be jumping from the MSTP forum to the residency forum (I'm about 3 months into M1), but I was wondering about everyone's impressions of the new fast-track residency at Chicago.

I have no idea about the reputations of various programs or even how to judge a program, so any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks!!

JPaikman is right...these programs have existed for years, and quite a few IM programs have formalized this process.
To add to the list for IM fast-track programs...
Cornell-Presby
Iowa (brand new)
Michigan (new as of last year)
Mayo
U Minnesota (although not well advertised at all)
Columbia-Presby is either starting this year or next
FYI...It was my impression when I interviewed at UChicago that they were not 100% enthusiatic about the short-track concept...a bit surprised they are now having a formal program for it.
Additionally, there are many other IM programs that can accomodate people interested in fast-tracking even though no formal program exists.
PM me with questions...I went though the process last year.

I'm beginning to gather up data on research residencies:

EDIT: Programs are linked inside the webpage.

If it's not too much trouble...can you share the links to those programs for others who would like to be further enlightened before they can attempt an informed comparison?

Hey, I actually got an informational email and brochure from Chicago. It was sent to "Dear MSTP Student". The program sounded intriguing, since you can also arrange for your subspecialty fellowship early on.
My questions is this: Apparently IM programs are doing this, but what about any programs in PEDIATRICS??? I mean an "officially" structured program like Chicago's, not just something where they say that opportunities "exist".
Thanx :)

UCSF, UCLA, and Iowa at first glance are among ones that support a structured program, based on their websites.
