I've been offered a saturday for an interview date at a program. It just seems weird, I hadn't heard of Saturday interviews before. Anyone else have a Saturday date? Is there any disadvantage to interviewing on a weekend? I'd think you may not get the full feel of the place b/c less people will be around.

I have a saturday interview in anesthesia. If they offer it, it is fine. Can't penalize you for something they designed.

I have a couple of saturday interviews - I like it because I don't have much time off so a weekend in between rotations works well for me! UMIch, UIC, and Loyola. I can see your point though about not getting a feel for the program when it is not a full working day. It is probably easier for the program to have interviews on saturdays for that reason.

the attendings dont have to interrupt patient care (outpatient clinics, rounds, etc) on saturdays, allowing them to free up more time with interviewees. i liked sat interviews, unfortunately, you dont get to see what a 'normal' day is like either.

saturday interview here too. Don't have much of a choice here tho. I'm sure it'll be fine. I'll probably do a second look there anyway, since its one of my top choices, so i'll get to see a real work day.

Just got an invite for a Sat interview (anesthesia) and the follow up info stated that the interview is held at a hotel. ???? Makes me think the hospital must be pretty crappy if they don't even let you see it. Hm. Any thoughts?
