So I've got an exam at the end of this thing. The lectures are ok. The book they gave us is crap. The millions of teaching case files are random and pointless and you don't seem to pick up much by hanging around the reading rooms.
What's the best way to learn radiology?
Lot's of people say that the best way is to use "websites". I don't know of any. Can anyone recomment any good sites? Thanks. :)

Wow. Radiology elective and exam just don't seem like they belong in the same sentence.
I did a rads elective 3rd year & read Squire (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0674012798/qid=1131076783/sr=8-8/ref=pd_bbs_8/104-5258293-4617526?v=glance&s=books&n=507846) for the heck of it. It was a pretty easy read, but I have no idea how well it will prepare you for your exam.

Yeah, it's retarded that there's an exam here. I'm spending most of the rotation interviewing so I don't have much time to hang around the reading rooms. I really just want to soak up enough knowledge to pass the damn thing.

The IR Radiologist and head of one of the programs here told me to read and/or buy (click the pic) it's a pretty good book

Wing it. They're not going to make it subtle, or everyone would fail. Find out how hard the exam is from other people who have taken the elective. My guess is that you will see:
Lobar pneumonia
Displaced fracture
Pneumothorax
Pleural effusion
Bowel obstruction
Funny foreign body

i know this post is a bit old, but i just saw it . .. i used Radiology Made Ridiculously Simple for my radiology elective. its not very in-depth, but i thought it was excellent at thoroughly covering the basics, and its definitely easy to read. i also used Squires as a reference- it is also an easy read, but probably too long to read the entire thing for just a 4 wk rotation.

The only drawback is that it uses faggy British spelling like oesophagus and haematology, and so forth. :(
ahhh...the beauty of ethnocentric thought...
