Has anyone gotten Flinders' late round of offers for November?
By the way, how does UQ compare with Flinders in terms of program and repute? Is the living cost at both places the same?

UQ is easily the equal of Flinders, but I guess it depends on where the person telling you is from. In Australia there is a university category called the 'Group of 8' (Go8), this refers to the top 8 universities in the country. UQ is in the Go8, Finders is not. Having said this, in Australia going to UQ because it is a member of Go8 won't make you any more employable as a Dr than graduates from Flinders - a degree from Flinders will make you just as much a Dr as a degree from UQ.

Don't know much about the Go8 group, however Flinders is easily one of the most established programs (grad med) in Australia and UQ's program is considered relatively new. Flinders has also sold their program to many other new universities as it has been tried and tested.
I'm not sure about living costs though... I assume rent is generally more expensive in Brisbane than it is in Adelaide, but for items like food, grog and such, I'm not sure. Can anyone else help?

Flinders University (not the med school) has been advertising in the papers here recently. One of their ads said they were in the "top 9" in the country. My friends and I were amused, because that obviously means they were #9. Who cares really, though? As Wallabie said, it has no bearing whatsoever on your degree and your skills when you finish. Besides, I think they're referring to the whole uni, not the SOM.
BTW, UQ has class sizes of 275ish and Flinders 125ish. Both schools are otherwise similar in content, both use PBL and are 4 year courses. Deciding where to go is a hugely personal decision...make a list of your pros and cons of both programs. You can probably glean a lot from the SDN archives...there are heaps of posts about all the Aussie schools.
