Can anyone give me some advice on what a good text would be for Neurology?

i used neurology blueprints...it wasn't bad but a little sparse...others have told me that neuro pretest was good too, esp if you spend the time to read the explanations to the answers...

Lange's Neurology text is awesome. I read maybe 2/3 of it during a 1 month neuro rotation. This, combined with pretest (which is also very strong) did me very well.

I used Practical Primer of Clinical Neurology + pretest and did well. I just got sick of Lange, but did read some major sections in it. I also think Recall looks good, but I didn't discover it until the end of the rotation.

I used Blueprints and Pretest and liked those two sources.

Blueprints was a bit sparse like someone just said but pre-test complimented it quite well with decent questions and answers.

what about mcq's....is pre-test the only source w/ mcq's? qbook doesn't have neuro mcq's...don't think there's an a&l for neuro.

Have anyone already took the neurology shelf exam have any suggestions on how to study for this test? At out school, the neurology shelf count as 35% of our final grade. I heard this exam is a killer. Any advice on the shelf or text to use for this rotation is appreciated. :)

Like people mentioned above, I thought the Lange Clinical Neurology book was good for the shelf, especially for the major sections. I think that blueprints is probably better for step II prep than for the shelf. I also liked pretest.

I would like to echo the strength of the Lange neurology book. It's a little thick, but an easy read. For a quick review (i.e. - the night before), the neuro section out of First Aid for Step2ck I found to be very helpful.

This is really the only thread I can find that talks about the Neurology shelf. Does anyone have any thoughts on Oklahoma Notes? There has been no mention of it yet.....

Has anyone tried Introduction to Clinical Neurology by Gelb. It's a recommended book from our school. I am just not sure how helpful it's for the shelf. Thanks!!!
