I was wondering if anyone knows if it is very late in the process to interview with DO schools. How late do they interview? I hear that this time period is very late for an MD applicant. Is that true? Any information on this would be appreciated.

I don't know about other schools, but AZCOM's class for next fall has been filled for about a month, with a rather healthy waiting list.

I just interviewed at UHS earlier this month. At that time, they had only 135 of 220 slots filled. They plan to interview until the class is filled...through the middle of April at this point. From what I understand, they only have 2 more interview days planned between now and then; but they can open additional ones at anytime.

KCOM, as of Wed, had 85 of 150 filled. [In both cases, filled means have received deposits on the slots] I have just been invited for an interview there later this month.

I called UOMHS and they are about 70% filled, I think.

So, even though the number of seats is declinging, there continues to be hope.

VM, Yes it is late in the interview process and many seats are already filled. However, there is still hope. I interviewed at PCOM april 20th (or about) last year. I was wait listed and finally accepted in July, others in my interview group were accepted outright. I also interviewed at NYCOM May 13th, was waitlisted but never accepted - although they never formally sent anything. I advise that you keep yourself in the school's mind by calling occasionally. Also, it's never to late to send in additional letters of rec if you have been doing something outstanding. Make sure they have your updated transcripts, especially if they were impressive.

Hi Linda, I guess I wasn't very clear. I am interviewing this Thursday, I haven't been wait-listed. Thanks for the advice.

FYI, AZCOM is not filled yet, or at least it wasn't last week. I interviewed 2 weeks ago and got the acceptance letter last Friday. So there's still hope for other schools as well I'm sure. But realistically it is getting down to the wire.

Actually you were clear. My point was that I interviewed in late April and was accepted. However, at this time last year I was starting to plan to reapply, you should probably do the same.
