Hi all,
I'm hitting the wards next year and I would appreciate any advice regarding contacts. My eyes frequently get tired or dry, so I would like know if there are contacts that are exceptionally breathable/comfortable despite extended wear (i.e., can be worn for many hours without fatigue). I find glasses a bit cumbersome (esp. in the OR) but don't feel comfortable getting LASIK.
Thanks!

Silicone hydrogels are good and allows more penetration of oxygen. Try the Focus Night & Day (http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-1820016-5438597).
Good luck!

Thanks Dr. Doan!
I currently wear toric lenses that correct for my astigmatism ... are the focus night and day (silicone hydrogels) also available as toric lens?
Thanks!

I don't know because I've been out of the clinics for almost 6 months. I'm in the lab now.
Perhaps someone else on this board can answer this.

Perhaps someone else on this board can answer this.Currently the only 30 day silicone hydrogel lens available for astigmatism is PureVision by B&L. Acuvue Advance has a toric lens, although there are some deposit issues, especially for dry eyes, and it is a 2 week lens. O2Optix is a better 2 week option, but the toric lens is not out yet. Night & Day will have a toric lens in the comming year.
