Yes,we do quite a bit of ankle scopes. When we rotate with Ortho we scrub on knees but obviously not by ourselves. Same principles.

A lot of pods scope ankles now, as well as plantar fasciotomies.

Yes, there are many rearfoot trained Podiatric Surgeons who do ankle arthroscopy. In fact, there are some Podiatric Surgeons who are doing ankle fusions via ankle arthroscopy. There are a few Podiatric Surgeons who also do subtalar joint arthroscopy and 1st MTPJ (metatarsophalangeal joint) arthroscopy. With the advances in arthroscopy, there are some orthopedic surgeons in Asia who are doing bunionectomy via 1st MTPJ arthroscopy with percutaneous fixation. In addition to the residency training, there is an ACFAS ankle arthroscopy course that residents and rearfoot Podiatric Surgeon can attend. In a previous post, jonwill also brought up endoscopic plantar fasciotomy. In addition to endoscopic plantar fasciotomy, some Podiatric Surgeons are also doing endoscopic gastrocnemius recession.
